Career

Fortuna is one of eight original members of the Community of Franciscan Friars of Renewal, a Franciscan order established in 1987 by Cardinal John Joseph O'Connor. In 1990, Father Stan was ordained as a priest in the Bronx.

Father Fortuna founded Francesco Productions in 1987 as a way to record and market evangelical music, video productions, and books as well as manage his speaking and concert appearances; all proceeds go to the Community's benefit for the poor of the South Bronx, where he lives. Later, Francesco International Love Outreach was able to help the homeless in Uganda and Poland.

Father Fortuna, a globally recognized speaker, has appeared at numerous Franciscan youth conferences like Steubenville, and has a number of appearances on the EWTN program, Life on the Rock. He appears and lectures in Europe and Africa regularly. His work and music have appeared in a number of publications, including the US hip hop magazine XXL and the New York Times; he has also appeared on Entertainment Tonight Canada and MuchMusic's "Popoganda."

Over 18 CDs have been released in a variety of musical styles by Father Fortuna. Sacro Song 3: The Completion of the Trilogy and "Seraphic Wanderer," his first rap album and available in 2009, is dedicated to his mother. He has also released a jazz CD through Universal Music with his band, Scola Tristano. He has written three books: U Got 2 Believe, U Got 2 Pray, and U Got 2 Love, all published by OSV.

Sent is a British documentary film about his life and work. In December 2009, Joe Hewitt's third inspirational book U Got 2 Love was published.

Everybody Got 2 Suffer and Cell 91 from the album Sacro Song II are two of his most popular songs.

Father Fortuna spends the majority of his time in the United States, Canada, Africa, and Europe. He spoke at World Youth Day in Australia in 2008, was keynote speaker at the Diocesan Youth Conference in Victoria, British Columbia.
