Sergio Ramón "El Checho" Ibarra (born January 11, 1973 in Río Cuarto, Córdoba Province) is an Argentine footballer who plays as a striker.
He currently the coach for Cienciano in the Peruvian Segunda División.
Career
Despite being born in Argentina, Ibarra has played in virtually every aspect of his career in Peru, where he first jumped into the ranks of Ciclista Lima in the first division in 1992.
He first came to fame in 2004 when he lifted the Recopa against Boca Juniors as part of Cienciano. El Gráfico, Argentina's national football newspaper, announced that he had scored the most goals worldwide (21), one more than Carlos Tevez, Andrés Silvera, and Luis Bonnet, but two more than Javier Saviola.
In a 1-0 victory over Cienciano on March 2, 2008, Ibarra tied for the first time scoring record in the Peruvian league, scoring his 193rd goal. With 226 goals, he is the Peruvian League Top Scorer.
