Sean Reinert (born May 27, 1971) is the drummer of 'On Spoke's.
He was also a founding member of Cynic before leaving the band in September 2015.
Dave Miranda, John Bonham, Dave Weckl, Gary Husband, and Vinnie Colaiuta are all considered a key influence in his formative years. Reinert and Paul Masvidal (also from Cynic) were among the band members of the Human album in 1991.
Many consider this album to be the beginning of the experimental death metal genre.
He returned to Cynic after touring with Death. On the Roadrunner Records label, 1993 saw the introduction of Focus (regarded as a pioneer in the field of scientific/progressive metal) a year ago.
Due to high demand, Roadrunner re-released it in 2005 as a special collector's edition.
Reinert, the member of the Cynic spin-off band Portal, had performed a demo but was later disbanded.
Reinert, who had moved to Los Angeles, continued to perform on television shows and motion pictures. Reinert joined Masvidal in 1999, forming On Spoke, which is described as a "ethereal rock" band.
The band appeared on television shows and motion picture soundtracks in 2004 and 2007, receiving national and satellite airplay, broadcasting radio appearances, and even appearing on television show and motion picture soundtracks. It was announced that Cynic would resurrect for a tour that took place in 2007 at this time.
The revived line-up then released Traced in Air, a follow-up to Focus that was launched in 2008 and later expanded touring.
In 2009, a new EP with Cynic was scheduled for publication. As of May 2014, he and fellow Cynic member Paul Masvidal declared their homosexuality.
