Scout Taylor-Compton Career

Life and career

Scout Taylor-Compton was born in Long Beach, California, on February 21, 1989. Her mother is of Mexican ancestry. Her father is a mortician. Taylor-Compton says she grew up in the horror genre and visited my dad at the funeral. I have no problem with that stuff. "Whether it was a coffin or my dad's coming home" it was either a coffin or a dad returning his work." Andy Biersack of Black Veil Brides, her ex-boyfriend who she dated, wrote the song "The Mortician's Daughter" about her.

Taylor-Compton began her acting career in 1998 with an appearance in the film A.W.O.L. In the short film Afternoon, David Morse stars and later in the short film. Ally McBeal, ER, Frasier, The Guardian, and The Division went on to have small roles on television and film. She appeared in several student films, commercials for Fuji Film and the Disney Cruise Line, as well as various skits on The Jay Leno Show. Taylor-Compton made her stage debut in a performance by Annie Warbucks at The Grove Theatre in Upland, California, and a Simi Valley Cultural Arts Center stage performance.

Clara Forrester, Dean Forrester's younger sister (Jared Padalecki), appeared in the television series Gilmore Girls in 2001, the youngest sister of Dean Forrester (Jared Padalecki), who appeared in a total of four episodes until 2004. Taylor-Compton was nominated for "Best Performance in a TV Series – Recurring Young Actress" for her portrayal of Clara. She made a comedic appearance in the film Four Fingers of the Dragon (2003) while auditioning for a role in a fictive Kung Fu film. She appeared in Sleepover, her first major Hollywood film role, in 2004. At the Young Artists Award, the cast of the film was nominated for "Best Performance in a Feature Film – Young Ensemble Cast."

She was briefly listed as a missing person in 2005 after her family had been unable to reach her for about two weeks. She was discovered to be healthy and well on August 25, 2005, and she had reportedly been in the company of friends during her absence.

Following Sleepover, she appeared in numerous television shows, including Hidden Howie, Unfabulous (2 episodes), That's So Raven, Charmed (appearing in 8 episodes between 2000 and 2006 as various Fairies), and Without a Trace (in which she played a runaway teen).

Taylor-Compton appeared on ABC's Friday Night Live in 2007. She appeared in Tomorrow is Today and the horror film Wicked Little Things earlier this year. Taylor Peterson, a girl who saves the life of and befriends a hapless drifter, will appear on Today. The film received over six awards at various festivals, including the California Independent Film Festival, the Garden State Film Festival, Method Fest Independent Film Festival, and the Rhode Island International Film Festival. For her role in the film at the Method Fest Independent Film Festival, she was named "Best Actress" for her role. Wicked Little Things was one of the 8 Films to Die For after dark, and the Taylor-Compton actor was Sarah Tunny. She appeared in Standoff and Close to Home after these films.

In 2007, Taylor-Compton appeared in the film An American Crime, which told the true tale of suburban housewife Gertrude Baniszewski, who had held a teenage girl captive in the basement of her Indiana home during the 1960s. As Laurie Strode in Rob Zombie's remake of the classic Halloween, Taylor-Compton returned to the horror genre. She endured a lengthy audition process, but "Scout was my first choice," director Zombie says. She had a natural charm about her; she had a genuine quality. She didn't appear to be actor-y."

She appeared in Love's Unfolding Dream, which premiered on November 24, 2007, as well as in the horror film April Fool's Day, a remake of the 1986 film of the same name shot in North Carolina and a DVD release on March 25, 2008. Taylor-Compton outlined at the time that she would be playing another wholesome 'good girl' that screams a lot." She also appeared in Life Blood, a 2009 horror film in which she appeared as Carrie Lain.

However, Taylor-Compton did mention in an interview conducted in July 2007 that she decided not to do anything related to horror films until completion of April Fool's Day. Although she has received several horror film scripts, she believes she "need[s] to move away from terror. If she "loves" horror films and is her "favorite" and is "good to do other stuff in between," she says. She has recently been inspired by Scarlett Johansson's career, and she prefers scripts and roles based on personal interest as she sees Johansson. "I'm just dying to do that," Taylor-Compton continued to explain. I love being passionate about something rather than worrying about the money or who's in the movie." In 2009, Taylor-Compton appeared alongside Helen Mirren and Joe Pesci in Love Ranch. Beyoncé Knowles appeared in the film Obsessed alongside Beyoncé Knowles. In Halloween II (2009), a sequel to Rob Zombie's 2007 film, Taylor-Compton reprised her role as Laurie Strode.

She appeared in The Runaways, where she appeared as Lita Ford alongside Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning, and Stella Maeve.

Taylor-Compton was a singer who sang of I Am Sam in 2001, and she continued to protest with her voice over work with appearances in The Core (2003) and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004). She starred in the teen hero comedy Sky High over the next year. "Jet Set" was the film's theme song, and she appeared on the film Chicken Night (2001). Taylor-Compton appeared briefly in Will Smith's "Black Suits Comin" (Nod Ya Head) for the Men in Black II soundtrack in 2002. In 2007, she appeared in Born the Sky's music video for "Sweet Valentine."

Taylor-Compton took vocal lessons with Diane Gillespie and Vocal Power Institute in 2003, as well as guitar, drums, and keyboard lessons, and joined "Shenanigans" in a theatre company, where she appeared and took weekly tap and jazz lessons. She attended the Hollywood Pop Academy for additional vocal training.

Taylor-Compton released her debut rock/pop album in 2007, in which she performed and played drums. She has cited Cyndi Lauper, Gwen Stefani, Madonna, Kelly Osbourne, and Green Day as examples of her musical influences. Taylor-Compton appeared on set filming Halloween 2007, and punk-pop singer Vitamin C. She had also fronted the band White Zombie. She has said that singing is a side job and that "is just a little talent that I have on the side" and that if it does something, I'll do it, but I'm not gonna give up acting."

In 2011, she and Tony Oller appeared in a music clip for a cover of Adele's song "Someone Like You" by Tony Oller.

She appeared in the metalcore band Ice Nine Kills' music video for their album "The Shower Scene," based on the 1960 film Psycho.
