Scott was married to Danny Vendramini, a film director and writer, and had two children. She died of a brain tumor on May 4th, 2017.

Early life and career

Rosie Scott was born in Wellington, New Zealand. Dick Scott, her father, is a well-known historian and writer. She earned her BA and Graduate Diploma in Drama at Auckland University, as well as an MA (Hons) in English at Victoria University of Wellington. Before becoming a full-time writer, Scott worked in a variety of industries, including as a social worker and in publishing.
