Romina Sarina Oprandi (born 29 March 1986) is a tennis player.

She has dual Swiss-Italian citizenship and represented Italy from 2005 to 2012, winning 26 singles and 11 doubles titles on the ITF Women's Circuit, as well as one doubles championship on the WTA Tour.

She reached the top singles ranking of the world No. 32 on June 10, 2013.

Tennis career

Oprandi first rose to prominence in women's tennis when she reached the quarterfinals of a WTA Tier I tournament in Rome as a qualifier, losing to Svetlana Kuznetsova, 4–6, 6–7. Romina captured an ITF singles title at Denain, her best result for the remainder of the 2006 season.

Oprani competed in multiple tournaments on the main tour, including the Australian Open, Doha, Indian Wells, Miami, Amelia Island, Rome, and the French Open. She dropped out in the first round at Barcelona. Romina did not play for the remainder of the 2007 season nor the first half of the 2008 season due to a right forearm injury.

She returned to tennis in August 2008 at an ITF event in Monteroni d'Arabia, Italy. She won an ITF tournament in Wahlstedt, Germany, and advanced to the final in Mestre, Italy.

Oprandi attended her first WTA Tour event in over 18 months in Bogotá, Colombia, where she lost in the first round, 6–7, 6–7. She took home the doubles title at Buchen, teaming Sandra Martinovia.

Oprandi won the EmblemHealth Open singles title in Bronx, New York, on August 12, 2012, defeating Anna Chakvetadze 5–7, 6–3, 6–3.

In 2013, she reached two WTA singles semifinals in Oeiras and Brussels, but then she suffered a shoulder injury that kept her out of action for eight months.

Oprandi qualified in the Marrakech Grand Prix final in April 2014 for the first time since being ranked second in the third round. In the final, she defeated 3–6, 6–3, 3–6, 3–6. She won her first WTA doubles title at the same tournament on the same day, teaming with Garbi Muguruza to defeat Katarzyna Piter and Maryna Zanevska 4–2, 6–2, [11–9] in the final.
