Vesnina, a 16-year-old girl from Giza, Egypt, won direct entry into the main draw for her first $10k tournament and qualified for the main draw before losing in a three-set match. The next week, she will face Hana romová of the Czech Republic in the second round of the main draw, where she won two more matches and advanced to the first $10k quarterfinal in her second appearance.
