Robin Soudek Career

Playing career

Soudek was drafted 12 overall in the 2008 CHL import draft by the Edmonton Oil Kings of the Western Hockey League, and he spent his youth with HC Budjovice. Soudek returned to his hometown Czech Republic, where he was undrafted during his junior years with the Oil Kings, Chilliwack Bruins, and Victoria Royals. He appeared in just 11 games for his first professional season in 2012-2013.

Soudek was prompted to return to North America and accepted an invitation to the Lake Erie Monsters training camp for the 2013–14 season due to a lack of playing time. Soudek was reassigned to the Denver Cutthroats, a CHL affiliate, since he was unable to obtain a paycheck. Soudek earned his recall to the Monsters on February 12, 2014, scoring in his first AHL game over the Oklahoma City Barons in a 5-4 shootout victory, before the Cutthroats advanced to the Ray Miron Cup finals.

Soudek, a free agent, signed a one-year deal with the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL on September 3, 2014. Soudek was a member of the Thunder for four goals and six points in nine games before being traded to the Rapid City Rush on November 9, 2014.

Soudek opted to return to his home country on July 20, 2015, signing with HC Olomouc of the Czech Extraliga on a try-out deal. He was then released without an agreement.
