However, the film industry's increasing reliance on established intellectual property (IP) and concerns about financing original stories has resulted in a shift toward increased attention on franchises, which require regular reboots to keep them running. The critically reviled Fantastic Four revival from 2015, which generated less than half of what was expected and ended up being a disaster when factoring in the large advertising and promotion budget.

Robert Englund, who is best known for his role as Freddy Kruger in the Nightmare On Elm Street films, has hung up his bladed glove and picked a replacement for him. According to Variety, the 75-year-old actor reflected on his 50-year career in that he said he would not be casting the villain in eight feature films. He claims that in his forthcoming documentary Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story, he says, "I'm too old and fat to play Freddy now." I can't do combat scenes any more than one takes; I have a bad neck and bad back and arthritis in my right wrist. So I have to hang it up, but I would love to comeo.'

Exclusive Nightmare on Elm Street actor Joey was all smiles last Tuesday while driving around town in his vintage convertible Mercedes sports car, as shown by exclusive DailyMail.com photographs. Later that afternoon, he was discovered making a two-hour stop at a recording studio. The veteran character actor was casually dressed in jeans, brown leather boots, and a Lacoste T-shirt. He had a copy of 'The Unfolding,' a conservative satire book published by A.M. Homes.
