Rie Fu Life

Rie Funakoshi (Japanese:, Hepburn) is a Japanese singer-songwriter and singer who was born in Tokyo on January 11, 1985 (Rie Fu, ), a Japanese singer-songwriter and singer.

She lives in Tokyo but takes trips to the United Kingdom, where she is known as Rié, to record and promote her work. Since she is fluent in both English and Japanese, Rie fu's songs are often bilingual.

Although the majority of her songs are primarily Japanese, several of her songs have complete verses written in English.

Many of her songs that were written entirely in Japanese have since been released in English-language versions.

Personal life

Rie fu was born in Tokyo. She lived in Maryland with her family from 1992 to 1995, including a younger brother who plays a woodwind instrument. Sheryl Crow and 1970s pop artists like The Carpenters were among her musical inspirations during this period. Carole King, Joni Mitchell, The Carpenters, and Yumi Matsutoya are all influences, according to her.

Rie completed her primary and secondary school at Aoyama Gakuin in Tokyo from 1995 to 2003, after returning to Japan. (having switched to fashion style and graphic design) at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design of the University of the Arts London in fine art in 2007. After graduating, she returned to Tokyo, Japan, and has since been full time there. Rie often designs portions of her own album and single booklets, as well as her own artwork.

She works in both music and art. Her artwork is available under the Roman transliteration "Rie Funakoshi" and her music under "Rie fu," the abbreviation of her full name.

On November 29, 2013, she announced on her Facebook page that she had married a "funky British gentleman" (the man in question's identity has not been revealed) and apparently sometime this month.

Rie Fu Career

Music career

Rie fu discovered guitar in 2002, while in high school, and started writing songs and recording them with a small tape recorder. She sent the demo tape to a record store (Sony) and they signed her to their Palm Beach label.

Her first single, "Rie who!?

"Decay," a song that was featured in "Michigan" at the time, was released in March 2004 while she was studying at a London university. "Life Is Like a Boat" was chosen as the first ending theme for the anime series Bleach earlier this year, earning her widespread notice. She released her first full-length album, self-titled, and her song "I Wanta Go To A Place..." as the Gundam SEED Destiny third ending theme and released as a single. She was on a tour for M-Flo's Beat Space Nine album and began her first national tour in September of this year.

She released her second full-length album, Rose Album, in 2006, and her song "Until I Say" was used as the theme tune for the Japanese release of Heidi's 2005 British film Heidi. "Tsukiakari" was the closing theme to Darker than Black's 2007 album "Women" was included. After graduating from university, she returned to Japan to live full time and released her third full-length album Tobira Album in July.

"Home," her song "Home," which was used as the theme to the Japanese film Koneko no Namida, was released as a single in 2008. "Who is Rie fu?" she released an album in the United Kingdom on a British label named Tired & Lonesome, titled "Who is Rie fu?" "A collection of older songs with a previously unveiled cover of Joni Mitchell's song "Both Sides, Now," says the artist. As with a continental European release, a Japanese release with new tracks was anticipated. Neither materialized and the original UK album went out of print after struggling to establish a foreign presence for Rie fu. She went from Sony's Palm Beach label to gr8. The records are labeled.

Urban Romantic, her fourth full-length record, was released in 2009. She appeared on all of the songs on Orange Range head Naoto's solo album delofamilia's second album, eddy, on tour with the band. She performed on Ysui Inoue's commemorative 40th anniversary tour, as well as providing chorus vocals.

Her debut, at Rie sessions, was announced on March 31, 2010, and it was her first self-produced album. Many of the tracks on the album were recorded at Rie fu's house, and some of the tracks on the album include duets with other well-known artists. On the band's Facebook page, she is more involved with delofamilia as of 2011.

For their fifth closing song, she performed "Anata ga Koko ni Iru Riyuu."

I Can Do Better was her first compilation album, and it was released on November 23, 2011.

Rie undertook a campaign to produce two separate albums titled 'I' and 'O' respectively, to commemorate her ten years since her debut.' The project's goal was that the first album, 'Inside,' stood for the word 'Inside,' and was written from musical inspirations from her years of living in Japan and Japan's Japanese music industry. The second album, 'O', was based on her growing Asian experiences, and was based on her experience. Placing the two albums side by side also created the image of the number 10 to celebrate and thank her followers for ten years in the industry.
