Dillon has earned over 3.2 million followers on his website, as well as more than 413 million views on his videos, over his ten years on YouTube.

Early life and education

Dillon was born in North Carolina. When he was one year old, his family moved to Tuscumbia, Alabama. Tara and Lexi are his two older siblings. Dillon attended high school at Hoover High School, where he also marched in the band. Dillon continued to study film at Auburn University, but after three years, he dropped out.

Personal life

"I Sexuality," Dillon, who has worked with both men and women, released a video in September 2016, in which he said, "I would be the closest to asexual." Dillon distanced himself from earlier remarks on his asexuality in a YouTube video titled "My Coming Out Video Was a Lie" in February 2019. "I don't have a name for myself for the time being, and I don't have a word for myself" says the writer. Dillon made a video in which he came out as gay in February 2020 (titled "I'm Gay").

Dillon started his YouTube channel in 2009, releasing his first public video, PICKLEandBANANA. Dillon's followers also increased thanks to YouTube sensation Our2ndLife, where he, Connor Franta, JC Caylen, Kian Lawley, Trevi Moran, and Sam Pottorff all went on an international tour and attracted over 2.7 million followers before the group broke up in December 2014. He has also been affiliated with Fullscreen and has appeared in their InTour festival.

Dillon's website features original songs and covers, as well as music clips. Breaking Out, a scripted Sour Patch Kids sequel, he appeared in another scripted Sour Patch Kids film.

"Ordinary" was Dillon's debut single in 2014. RPD, Dillon's debut EP, was released on January 26, 2015. Dillon's sophomore single, "Beat," debuted in July 2015. Dillon speculated in an interview with People magazine at VidCon 2015, a new personal song named "Gold" was a new one of his second EP's tracks.

In multiple interviews, Dillon has stated that Demi Lovato has a major influence on his musical career. He has posted a number of songs on his YouTube channel, some of which were not released to iTunes.

Dillon's debut album Gold, which was released on January 15, 2016, was announced on December 1, 2015. The 10-track set (produced by Bobby J. Frausto) is preceded by the lead single "Steal the Show" (featuring Trevi Moran) which was released on December 28. On the album, Snoop Dogg and fellow YouTube stars Trevi Moran and Shelby Wadell are included. On January 15, the music video for the second single "Productive Snoop Dogg" (featuring Snoop Dogg) was released.
