Broderick Smiley (born August 10, 1968) is an American stand-up comedian, television presenter, and radio personality best known for his prank phone calls.

Smiley is heard disguising his voice and starting a chat with the caller.

He is the host of the nationally syndicated Rickey Smiley Morning Show, which is based in Atlanta, and its flagship affiliate, WHTA "Hot 107.9," according to the show's chief engineer.

Smiley appeared in The Rickey Smiley Show, which aired on TV One.

He has also worked on the Fox-produced tabloid nationally syndicated program Dish Nation.

Smiley first appeared on Rickey Smiley For Real, a reality television series about his life, in 2015. Smiley became a member of Omega Psi Phi through the Psi Rho chapter.

Personal life

Smiley reported on July 6, 2020, that his daughter, Aaryn, was shot during a road rage attack the previous weekend.

Smiley was the founding member of Omega Psi Phi, and he was welcomed into its Psi Rho chapter.

Smiley appeared as the host of BET's ComicView program in 2000. He has appeared on Showtime at the Apollo, HBO's Snaps, The Nashville Network, Uptown Comedy Club, and Comic Escape. "Bernice Jenkins" (also known as Granny Swims, Ms. Johnson, or Mrs. Francis), "Lil' Daryl," "Beauford"), and "Beauford" are among his original comedy routines. Bernice Jenkins has a grandson named Rufus, who is a modern-day "Gangsta" stereotype. In "Two My Toes Fell Off" and another prank phone call where Smiley calls a pharmacy, he is mentioned.

Smiley debuted as the morning show host for radio station KBFB in Dallas, Texas, in April 2004. The show features the trademark prank calls as well as news, statistics, and the most up-to-date hip hop music. Smiley signed an agreement with Syndication One (a syndicated radio division of Radio One) in 2008 to host the show nationally, and The Rickey Smiley Morning Show is now on many major urban radio stations. In 2013, Syndication One became Reach Media.

He has also released several parody songs based on his appearances, including "Roll Tide" starring Buford's redneck character, and "We Miss Robert," based on a routine of his own in which a friend of a deceased drug dealer performs a rap song named "We Miss Robert" at the funeral, which is really a song about a woman, in the hopes of a record deal.

Smiley appeared in Ice Cube's Friday After Next.
