Rafik Zoheir Djebbour (born 8 March 1984) is an Algerian footballer who plays as a striker, most recently for Consolat and the Algeria national team. He is also known as "The Terrorist" because he has the ability to terrorize defenses and also thanks to his machine gun goal celebrations.

Club career

Djebbour, a young boy born in Grenoble, France, was admitted to Auxerre's youth academy at the age of 15 in 1998. After five years in the youth academy, he was promoted to the senior team in 2003. At the age of 19, he made his professional debut.

R.A.A. noticed him in his debut season. Louviéroise. He did not live up to his hopes in his second professional season. Despite making 21 appearances, he only managed to score six goals. Djebbour was transfer listed by the club at the end of the season because he was dissatisfied with the team's treatment of him. Djebbour left Greek outfit Ethnikos Asteras in July 2005.

In his first season in Greece, he scored 11 goals in 21 appearances from September to January. He was granted a move to Atromitos, where he played six goals until the season's end.

Djebbour sustained a serious injury in his first season with Atromitos, limiting him to just two appearances without scoring. Djebbour had hoped to hire one of Greece's "big three" (AEK Athens, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos), but it didn't happen, and he ended up at Panionios.

Djebbour went on trial at Watford, but was not retained because Aidy Boothroyd said, "He wasn't what I was looking for." Djebbour's first six months with Panionios resulted in four goals in the remaining 14 games. In 27 appearances, he would go on to score 15 goals in 27 games. AEK Athens expressed their curiosity in signing Djebbour in the summer of 2008. On July 1, 2008, he began his move to the "Dikefalos-Aetos."

Djebbour left AEK for €3.2 million in 2008. In the 93rd minute of AEK's home 2–1 victory over Asteras Tripolis, he scored his first goal for the club, giving his team the three points. In a training ground bust-up, Djebour got into a brawl with teammate Nacho Scocco. Djebbour was involved in a dispute with AEK Athens' coach Dusan Bajevic on September 30, 2009, but was not allowed to practice for the remainder of the season for four months. Djebbour had been training with Celtic and Blackburn Rovers during his absence from AEK Athens' training. Djebbour signed a three-year contract with the club on September 7, 2010 extending his association until 2013. Djebbour's deal is worth €3.3 million, with a buy-out clause of €7 million.

He started the 2010 season in a great way, scoring three goals in three games (2–1 loss to Kerkyra, 1–0 loss to Panserraikos, and a 2–2 draw with Asteras Tripolis) for the regular season as well as a goal during AEK's 3–1 Europa League victory over Hajduk Split.

Djebbour lost another match on January 2, 2011, this time with Manolo Jimenez, the new AEK Athens coach. Jimenez was reportedly told Djebbour that he is not allowed to attend the next day's training and instead speak with the chairman of AEK Athens.

Djebbour requested to be released on a free transfer by AEK immediately after the events with Manolo Jimenez. He also requested that his remaining wages be split. Lens and other French companies expressed an interest in buying him. Djebbour threatened AEK's board and was prepared to seek a settlement in court.

Olympiacos bought Djebour from AEK Athens on January 21, 2011. He signed a six-month contract with the possibility of re-exancing for two years. In an away victory over Aris thanks to Ariel Ibagaza's superb support, he scored his first goal for Olympiacos. In a 6–0 home win over AEK Athens, a goal against PAOK, and the winning goal in a 2–1 derby victory over Panathinaikos were followed by two goals. After a superb assist from Albert Riera et al in a home win 3–1 over Kavala, he also scored in a home victory 3–1 against Kavala.

In a thrilling home win 2–1 over Skoda Xanthi, Djebbour scored his first goal of the season with a last-minute winner. Rafik's goal of the season came at a home win 2–1 over PAOK with a spectacular header from Kevin Mirallas. In a Champions League home win (3–1) over Borussia Dortmund, he scored his first European goal for Olympiakos. In a 3–0 away win over Panionios in the domestic league, he scored two goals. He scored in a home victory 2–1 over PAOK. In a 2–2 home draw with OFI Crete and a goal in a 1–1 home draw with Panathinaikos, he scored a goal. He scored in a 2–0 home win over Panetolikos, which was also scored in a 2–0 home win. In a Champions League home game against Arsenal, his second European goal was scored in a 3–1 victory. In a 7–2 home win over Asteras Tripoli, Djebbour scored a goal. In a 1–0 home victory over Rubin Kazan in the Europa League, his third European goal of the season was achieved. In a 4–0 away win over PAS Giannina, he scored two goals. In Olympiacos' 2–1 victory over Atromitos, Djebbour scored also in the Greek Cup Final.

Djebbour made 31 appearances in all competitions, scoring 12 goals in the Greek Superleague and 16 goals in all competitions.

Djebbour scored in a 2–1 away victory over Veria after José Holebas' help. After assisting Djamel Abdoun, he next scored two goals in a 4–0 home win over Levadiakos. In a 2–1 away win over PAS Giannina, his next goal came in a 2–1 victory. At this match, he was assisting Kostas Mitroglou in scoring the second goal. After two assists from Djamel Abdoun and Ariel Ibagaza, he scored two goals in a 4-1 home victory over Panthrakikos. In a 4–0 home win over Skoda Xanthi, he next scored two goals. As a result of his outstanding work, Djebbour has been given a new contract extension. In a 1–1 away draw against PAOK, he also scored. After two assists from Djamel Abdoun and David Fuster, he next scored two goals in a classical Greek derby against Panathinaikos. In a 1–0 away win at Levadiakos in the last minute of the game, he scored his next goal with a magnificent header. In a home victory 2–0 over Pas Giannina, his next goal was scored. With this goal, he equaled his previous (last year) record of 16 goals in all competitions with the Olympiacos' shirt and his previous record of 15 goals at Greek Superleague with the Panionios shirt. After an assist from Kostas Mitroglou, his next goal came in a 3–2 home loss against Atromitos. In an away victory 2–0 over Skoda Xanthi, his next goal came in an away win 2–0. With this goal, he scored 18 goals in all competitions and tied his previous record of 17 goals in all competitions with Panionios clothing. After an assist from Djamel abdoun, he next scored two goals in an away win 4–0 against OFI. He scored 20 goals at 20 goals in Greek Superleague with these two objectives. After the manager of the club, Roberto Carlos, Djebbour, joined Süper Lig club Sivasspor on a season-long loan contract from Olympiacos on September 6, 2013. He appeared in 13 games with the club in all sports and gained four goals.

Djebbour joined Nottingham Forest on January 29, 2014, first on loan, with the contract becoming permanent at the end of the season. Despite a debut goal, Djebbour, and countryman Djamel Abdoun were both disbanded by caretaker boss Gary Brazil due to a perceived lack of effort in preparation and bad attitude.

Forest thought they could cancel the permanent transfer with his club Olympiacos at the end of the season, but they were unable to do so. Djebbour and Forest had signed an agreement to stop working on July 15, 2014.

Djebbour completed a one-year deal with APOEL from Cyprus on August 5th. In APOEL's 4–0 victory over Aalborg BK in the play-off round of the Champions League, he made his debut against Aalborg BK at GSP Stadium on August 26, 2014. In APOEL's 2014--15 UEFA Champions League campaign, Djebbour appeared in five group stage matches. In APOEL's 2–1 victory over Othellos in the Cypriot First Division, he scored his first goal on October 6, 2014. In APOEL's 1–0 home victory over Nea Salamina, the winner scored for his second straight league match, netting again the winner. In APOEL's thrilling 4–4 home draw against AEK Larnaca for the Cypriot First Division, he scored twice twice. Djebbour scored twice in APOEL's 2–0 home victory over Anorthosis in the quarter-finals of the Cypriot Cup on March 11, 2015. He scored the equalizer in APOEL's 1–1 away draw against Omonia in the Cypriot First Division's play-offs on March 14, 2015. Djebbour beat APOEL 3–2 on May 2nd, helping his team advance five points ahead of the Cypriot First Division, with only three matches remaining until the conclusion. Djebbour scored twice in APOEL's 4–2 victory over Ermis Aradippou on May 24th, marking the double as his team earned their third straight championship titles.

Djebbour signed a one-year deal with the option of a second season with AEK Athens on June 17, 2015, the club's former star after four years.

He missed the start of the season and started training in November.

In a home victory over Kalloni F.C. on December 6, 2015, he scored his first goal with AEK Athens after returning to action. He equalized an Eduardo Brito goal against Atromitos, coming from the bench, allowing the team to progress to the final for the first time in five years. Djebbour helped his team win 2–1 over champion Olympiacos in the Cup's final at the Olympic Stadium of Athens on Saturday, defeating them for the 15th time in their history.

Djebour moved to Aris on a 3-year deal on September 7, 2016. After a disappointing home draw (1-1) against Aiginiakos F.C., the Algerian striker had a beef with his team's supporters on Friday. Djebbour signed with GS Consolat, a French national team, on October 3, 2017, marking his return to France after 12 years.

International career

In August 2006, he made his Algeria debut against Istres in an unofficial friendly game, and his first official match against Gabon came the next day. Algeria lost 0–2. On June 6, 2008, he scored his first international goal against Liberia. He was instrumental in Algeria's victory over Egypt in June 2009 and was vital in the country's win over the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He appeared at the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa but failed to score.
