Female teacher faces trial as she appears in court accused of 'having sex with a 15-year-old pupil'

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 17, 2022
Rebecca Joynes, from Salford (left and centre right with parents), today made her first appearance at Manchester Crown Court charged with two counts of sexual activity with a child. The 28-year-old is alleged to have 'intentionally touched' a boy 'not reasonably believing he was 16 or over'. The allegations, which date back to October 2021, relate to a child who cannot be named for legal reasons. The court heard that Joynes had initially been suspended from her role but was no longer employed by the education authority concerned. Judge Rachel Smith granted bail on the condition that Joynes makes no contact with any prosecution witnesses and is forbidden from having unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 18.
