An eight-year-old girl died after a Land Rover crashed into the end-of-term celebrations at a London primary school, injuring at least 16 people. On the last day of term, students as young as four were enjoying an outdoor tea party. The Study Prep school in Wimbledon was devastated by a tragedy. According to Scotland Yard, the Land Rover Defender vehicle's pilot, a woman in her 40s, had been arrested on suspicion of reckless driving. In a press conference, Metropolitan Police Detective Chief Superintendent Clair Kelland wept that an eight-year-old girl had died, adding, 'Our thoughts are with her family at this traumatic time.' The 4x4 was unable to reach the front wall of the main hall before it struck the exterior wall, just as teachers, students, and parents were preparing for the holiday. At least 16 people were treated on the scene, with ten others admitted to the hospital. Several people are reported to be in'serious' and 'critical' conditions. Scotland Yard has reported a big incident, but officers have said it was not terrorist-related.
