Early life and career
Shaw was born on June 24, 1918 in Reading, Berkshire, England, and began his career as a screen actor after the Second World War, and later found success as a studio executive. Shaw spent time in the British Army during the Second World War. In the late 1940s, he was signed by the Charles Feldman Agency to a Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer deal. Shaw apprenticed with agent Paul Small, which led to a career in the William Morris Agency, where he also represented Katharine Hepburn and Robert Mitchum. In 1964, he joined MGM as an assistant head of manufacturing and then rejoined the William Morris Agency as an international business manager. In 1987, Shaw founded Corymore Productions. She Wrote with his two sons at Universal Studios, starring his wife Angela Lansbury in addition to other made-for-television films.
