Perry Blake (born 10 May 1970) is an Irish musician and songwriter known for his songs' delicate, downtempo, melancholic style and his soft singing voice.
Career
Blake's self-titled debut album in 1998 was a hit in the United Kingdom and garnered critical praise. "The Hunchback Of San Francisco," his first single, appeared on this website, was released on this album. Steve Jansen's second album, Still Life, featured Dickon Hinchliffe of Tindersticks and former Prefab Sprout drummer Neil Conti, while his third album, California, was co-produced with Italian composer Marco Sabiu.
Blake is renowned in France, where his music was used for the soundtracks of the films Presque rien (2000, for which he also wrote the original music) and Trois Petites Filles (2004).
