A case of monkeypox in a child under four years old has been reported in Martin County, Florida, the first such occurrence in the state and seventh in the United States overall. Experts have warned that these young children are at a greater risk of severe infection or death from the virus. According to one expert, more of these outbreaks are likely to develop into a full fledged pandemic.

Officials from each state are dissatisfied with the federal government's handling of the monkeypox vaccine rollout

Both state and federal officials are blaming poor planning and logistics from the federal government for the difficulties in the country's monkeypox vaccination rollout. According to them, the ordering system used to order shots is clunky, and leaves them no way to monitor their shipment or when it will arrive. Delivery locations for geographically large states such as California and Texas are also limited, making it even more difficult for geographically large states such as California and Texas. Sometimes shots are not even delivered in the correct area. On Friday, the United States welcomed 419 cases to the leadger, raising the world's largest outbreak of the virus to 11,177 infections.
