Patience Ozokwor (born 14 September 1958) is a Nigerian musician, fashion designer, gospel singer, and actor.

At the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2012 & 2013, she received the Best Supporting Actress award.

In 2014, Ozokwor was one of 100 Nigerians honoured by the government to commemorate the unification of the northern and southern protectorates.

Early life

Patience Ozokwo was born in the village of Amaobo, Ngwo, Nigeria's present-day Enugu State, Nigeria, and attended Abimbola Gibson Memorial School in Lagos. Patience Ozokwor had a passion for acting since she was in primary school, where she would appear in various stage productions. Patience earned a degree in fine and applied arts from the Institute of Management and Technology Enugu, where she later obtained a degree in fine and applied arts. She appeared in Radio Drama before starting as an actress. "Someone Cares" was the Nigerian Television Authority's (NTA) soap opera "Someone Cares." She was married at the age of 19 and has three biological children and five adopted ones, who all bear her name. When she lost her husband in 2000, Ozokwor became a widow.

Career

Before she became an actress, she served as an announcer and broadcaster on Radio Nigeria. She rose to fame after her role in the 1999 film Authority, and her first television drama, Someone Cares, was selected on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). Since being in a burgeoning success, she went on to appear in more than 100 films.
