Racing career

In 2008, Kligerman drove the No. 1 as part of Penske's driver development program. In two races in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, 77 Cunningham Motorsports Dodge won two races. In 2009, he drove the car full time, finishing second in points in his rookie season. Penske's No. 1 was his first appearance in the Nationwide Series. That year, a 22 car at Kansas Speedway was the pole and the top of the class. He then raced in the season finale for Team 42 Racing.

He was scheduled to compete in the first five races of the 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series season with Team 42, with additional appearances likely. However, he failed to qualify at Daytona and Bristol. He was out of the car before returning to Talladega for the eighth race of the season, when he crashed on lap 113. With a ninth-place finish in Bristol's second race, he earned his first Top 10 finish. With an 8th-place finish at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, the Kligerman also earned a top-ten finish.

In 2011, Kligerman won Rookie of the Year in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, winning the No. Brad Keselowski Racing's 29 Rams. He has returned to the No. 1 position. In 2012, he drove the Penske Racing No. 29 truck, which also drove the Penske Racing No. Brad Keselowski and Jacques Villeneuve vie for the 22nd in the Nationwide Series on a limited schedule, sharing the seat with Brad Keselowski and Jacques Villeneuve.

On October 6, 2012, Kligerman won his first Camping World Truck Series race at Talladega Superspeedway. Kligerman, a fringe title contender late in the season, was officially dropped from championship contention after being involved in a shooting in Phoenix and finishing in 27th place. In the 2012 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, he will make his final appearance for Red Horse Racing and finish in 7th place. In the series points standings, he came in 5th place.

Kligerman signed with Kyle Busch Motorsports to drive their No. 109 and not the Camping World Truck Series in 2013. In 2013, Toyota Camry 77 made the NASCAR Nationwide Series full-time. He was dissatisfied with KBM, only placing in the top five three times and ending the year in ninth position.

Kligerman made his Sprint Cup debut at Texas Motor Speedway in the AAA Texas 500 in November 2013, driving for Swan Racing. Swan's best result in 2013 was 18th in the event. Kligerman also did well by finishing 25th on the lead lap two weekends later, two weekends later.

Swan Racing announced Kligerman's enrolment for the entire 2014 season as part of an expansion to two full-time squads, as well as Cole Whitt. Kligerman was involved in an accident that resulted in his car overturned into the catch fencing, but was uninjured.

Swan was forced to sell both of its teams and the No. 119 due to sponsorship woes and on track challenges, including several DNFs and wrecked race cars in the first eight races. Xxxtreme Motorsport, who already had a driver in J. J. Yeley, purchased 30 points by Xxxtreme Motorsport, who also had a driver. Kligerman was also without a ride. However, Swan decided to hold Kligerman under control for the remainder of the year, in the event that the company's operations would reopen. Stewart-Haas Racing revealed that Kligerman would act as a practice and stand-by driver for Kurt Busch on May 14. Kligerman started working as an analyst with NBC Sports Network (NBCSN) later this year. Schmidt Peterson Motorsports revealed in September that he would try an Indy Lights vehicle.

Kligerman continued his involvement with NBCSN in 2015, including commentary on tape-delayed broadcasts of the K&N Pro Series. He returned to action at Darlington in September, driving the No. 74. In the Xfinity Series, 97 Chevrolet for Obaika Racing.

Kligerman would drive the No. 1 on February 3, 2016. In the Truck Series, a 92 Ford F-150 for RBR Enterprises at Daytona. Kligerman joined Athenian Motorsports in Kentucky in July for the Truck race, replacing an injured John Wes Townley. Kligerman and RBR were officially split up before the Martinsville race, leaving Kligerman without a ride. Despite not returning to the Cup series in 2020, Kligerman will return to Henderson for the 10 Truck series, debuting in the No. 1 category. Silverado has failed to qualify for his first two attempts, but he is still making the field at his other attempts. He'll do fine, with his best finish at Dover coming out after 94 laps, and his best fishing being fourth at Bristol.

In 2021, Kiligerman's truck schedule will increase from ten races to 12 races. At Watkins Glen and Darlington, he will be one of the top five players in both top-fives. Gaunt Brothers Racing will also compete in the Fall Kansas Race, where he helped the 96 96 finish in 20th place. Kligerman said that the car was one of the best Cup cars he had ever driven.

Kligerman said he would return to Henderson Motorsports on December 27, 2021, in reaction to a fan's tweet. In 2022, a 75 truck ran in 8 to 12 races.

Kligerman won his third victory in the Truck Series on July 9, 2022, beating Zane Smith in the O'Reilly Auto Parts 150 at Mid-Ohio, his third victory in the event.

Big Machine Racing announced that Kligerman would drive the No. 22 on October 29, 2022. In the 2023 Xfinity Series season, the 48 cars raced in full throttle.

In a horrific accident, NASCAR's Xfinity Series Aggressive 300 in Talladega had to be stopped on Saturday after driver Blaine Perkins' car was flipped over six times. Perkins was hit by Jade Buford during the second stage of the race, causing Perkins' car to go airborne and then barrel-roll down the track. Despite being able to climb from the wreckage and walk away, Perkins was taken to a nearby hospital for precautionary reasons.
