Pop's party girl will get you dancing again! ADRIAN THRILLS reviews KYLIE: Tension II

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 18, 2024
She moved one step ahead of the game six years ago when she foreshadowed this year's country craze with 2018's Golden, an album she described as ' Dolly Parton on the dance floor'. Since then, however, Kylie Minogue has gone back to what she does best - high-octane disco music. At 56, she's showing no sign of slowing down. This year, she has closed the show at the BRITs (where she won the Global Icon award), rounded off a Las Vegas residency, headlined British Summer Time in London's Hyde Park and recorded duets with Sia, Orville Peck, The Blessed Madonna and Bebe Rexha and Tove Lo. Next spring, she's back on the road with her biggest arena tour in more than a decade; and today sees the release of a new album, Tension II. A companion piece to last year's Tension, it takes her even deeper into the sounds of clubland. As she sings on Lights Camera Action: 'This place is the space where I let it go.'

Jennifer Lawrence takes a swipe at Trump's former VP Mike Pence over his support of conversion therapy and opposition to gay marriage

www.dailymail.co.uk, May 13, 2024
Jennifer Lawrence took a swipe at Trump's former VP Mike Pence over his support of conversion therapy and opposition to gay marriage at a New York awards ceremony Saturday night. The film star, who was attending the 2024 GLAAD Media Awards to introduce and honor her 'favorite musician and good friend Orville Peck', took to the stage to express her love for the gay community. 'I love seeing so many humans who can top their field while still being power bottoms,' Lawrence said. Speaking candidly about how she once fell in love with a gay man 'who she attempted to convert for years' she found an opportunity to hit out at Pence after claiming 'I know conversion therapy doesn't work'. 'Did you hear me, Mike Pence? I said conversion therapy isn't real, even though I know you think it worked on you,' she said.
