Kacey Musgraves Life

Kacey Lee Musgraves (born August 21, 1988) is an American singer and songwriter.

She has received six Grammy Awards (including 2019's Album of the Year Award), six Country Music Association Awards, and three Academy of Country Music Awards.

Musgraves self-released three albums before appearing on the fifth season of the USA Network's singing competition Nashville Star in 2007, where she ranked seventh.

She appeared on Triple Pop in Austin, Texas, in 2008, and she later signed to Mercury Nashville in 2012 and released her critically acclaimed debut album Same Trailer Different Park in 2013.

The album's lead single "Merry Go 'Round" received the Grammy Award for Best Country Song.

It also featured the platinum-certified single "Follow Your Arrow" which received the Country Music Association Award for Song of the Year.

Pageant Material (2015), she released her second studio album, garnering critical acclaim and a Best Country Album Grammy nomination in 2015.

In 2016, Musgraves released A Very Kacey Christmas, her fourth studio album, which included Album of the Year and Best Country Album, to widespread critical acclaim.

"Butterflies" and "Space Cowboy," the album's first two singles, were named Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song respectively.

Golden Hour also received the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association Award for Album of the Year, putting Musgraves down to only the sixth artist to win all three major album of the year (Grammy, CMA, ACM, and all-genre Grammy Awards for the second artist to win the Grammy, CMA, ACM, and all-genre Grammy Award of the Year.

Early life

Kacey Lee Musgraves was born in Golden, Texas, on August 21, 1988, to Craig and Karen Musgraves. (née Abrams) Musgraves was born on August 21, 1988. Craig is the owner of a small printing business in Mineola, Texas, and Karen Musgraves is an illustrator. Musgraves has said that she was born six weeks early and weighed only five pounds. Kelly Christine Sutton (née Musgraves), a photographer, is Musgraves' younger sister.

Musgraves began writing at the age of eight when she wrote "Notice Me" for her elementary school graduation. She began playing on the mandolin first, and then took guitar lessons from a local musician named John DeFoore, "one of the most important things that ever happened to me."

Musgraves' mother took her to local music festivals to perform western swing music. She was a member of Texas Two Bits, toured through Texas and released an independent album in 2000, and was given the opportunity to perform at President George W. Bush's "Black Tie and Boots Inaugural Ball" alongside co-student Alina Tatum. Her family sponsored her first solo, self-released album at the age of 14. She graduated from Mineola High School in 2006 and moved to Austin, Texas, at the age of 18. Musgraves appeared on Season 5 of the singing competition reality television show Nashville Stars, where she finished seventh.

Personal life

Musgraves admitted in an interview with ABC Radio in 2014 that she had been in a friendship with her bandmate Misa Arriaga for many years before becoming friends first.

At the Bluebird Café in Nashville, Musgraves met Ruston Kelly. They had a songwriting date in May 2016 and started dating shortly after. Musgraves claimed that the song "Butterflies" from her album Golden Hour is about her courtship with Kelly. Musgraves proposed Kelly on December 24, 2016. They married in Tennessee on October 14, 2017. In July 2020, the couple filed for divorce, which was finalized in September 2020.

Musgraves was discovered professionally in 2008 by producer Monte Robison for his independent record company, Triple Pop. In 2010, she performed with the Josh Abbott Band on the song "Oh, Tonight." Musgraves' two acoustic albums for Triple Pop (covers of OneRepublic's "Apologize" and Miley Cyrus' "See You Again") are available on a digital EP that was released in 2012. In the Billboard Hot Singles Chart at No. 1, "Apologize" (Acoustic Version) charted. Over 31,000,000 streams on Spotify as of February 15, 2014. On the 10-year anniversary of Triple Pop's release of the "Acoustic Remixed" digital EP, which featured newly remixed and remastered versions of the same songs, which was on sale on March 30, 2018.

In 2012, the Musgraves joined Lady A on the European leg of their Own the Night Tour. She signed with Mercury Nashville in 2012 and released her solo debut "Merry Go Round." The song appears on her debut album Same Trailer Different Park, which was produced and co-written by Musgraves, Shane McAnally, and Luke Laird, and was released on March 19, 2013. The album debuted at number 2, selling 42,000 copies. In "Blowin' Smoke" and "Follow Your Arrow," it brought out new hit singles. Musgraves received four awards at the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in 2012, including Female Vocalist of the Year.

At the 56th Annual Grammy Awards, Musgraves was also nominated for four Grammy Awards, tying Taylor Swift and Lorde for the most awards won by a woman this year. "Mama's Broken Heart," Best New Artist, Best Country Album (Same Trailer Different Park), and Best Country Song were among the many nominations for "Mama's Broken Heart" and "Merry Go 'Round." "Merry Go Round" received the Best Country Song Grammy award, and Same Trailer Different Park received the Best Country Album award.

Musgraves traveled with Katy Perry on the North American leg of her Prismatic World Tour, as well as Willie Nelson and Alison Krauss on select dates during their tour. "Bourbon in Kentucky," Dierks Bentley's lead single on Dierks Bentley's 2013 album Riser, Musgraves provided backing vocals for "Bourbon in Kentucky."

Musgraves received the Academy of Country Music Award for album of the year in April 2014 for Same Trailer Different Park. In June 2014, she launched The Trailer Song, a new song that debuted on Jimmy Fallon's Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In August 2014, the same Trailer Different Park was awarded gold for selling over 500,000 copies. "Follow Your Arrow" by Musgraves was also awarded gold, and "Merry Go Round" was also certified platinum.

Musgraves revealed in late August 2014 that she would attend a 10-show headlining tour titled Same Tour Different Trailer, which started on September 25 and ended on October 19.

Musgraves said she had started writing songs for her second major label album in September 2014 and planned to collaborate with Luke Laird and Shane MacAnally later this year, even after her touring schedule finished. On March 16, 2015, the album's lead single, "Biscuits," was released.

Pageant Material, Musgraves' second studio album, was released on June 23, 2015. Musgraves reported the debut of A Very Kacey Christmas on September 7, 2016. The collection, which features eight classic and four original songs, was released on October 28, 2016, via Mercury Nashville. Musgraves embarked on a Christmas-themed tour, featuring a string section, an accordion, a bass, a clarinet, and backup singers.

Musgraves was chosen as one of 30 country musicians to appear on "Forever Country," a mash-up track of "Take Me Home, Country Roads," "On the Road Again," and "I Will Always Love You" in September 2016. Musgraves has earned her first number one country single in celebrations 50 years of the CMA Awards.

Musgraves provided backing vocals on "All the Best" a John Prine cover for Zac Brown Band's album Welcome Home in 2017. Musgraves revealed the name of her third studio album, Golden Hours, on December 12, 2017. Entertainment Weekly announced it on December 12, 2017. "Butterflies" and "Space Cowboy" were the first singles from the album on February 23, 2018. Musgraves made headlines in March at the 2018 C2C: Country to Country festival in London after attending the festival in 2016.

On March 22, 2018, Musgraves premiered "High Horse," the album's third song, on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 Apple Radio show. Musgraves revealed in April 2021 that their new album would be out, but that it would not be announced later this year. It will be published on both UMG Nashville and Interscope Records, her first appearance on the late label. Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk, co-producers, will return to work on the project. Musgraves began teasing her next album by releasing snippets of new music on her 33rd birthday. Musgraves announced on August 23, that her fifth album, now called Star-Crossed, would be released on September 10 along with a companioning 50-minute film that will be available exclusively on Paraphrasedoutput. Musgraves also released the album's title track.

Musgraves revealed a 15-city star crossed in August 2021, with the album Star-Crossed's tour. Musgraves became the first female guest to perform nude on Saturday Night Live on October 2, 2009.
