When is the World Cup opening ceremony? How to watch and who is performing?

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 17, 2022
As the host nation Qatar meets Ecuador in the curtain raiser, the 2022 World Cup gets underway this weekend. There has been a lot of scrutiny since Qatar was given the 2022 World Cup in 2010, notably because of allegations of mismanagement, human rights abuses, and the treatment of both women and the LGBTQ+ group in the first-ever winter edition of the tournament. Qatar has emphasized that the World Cup will be transparent and welcoming of all, though a string of events leading to this otherwise, with a journalist from Danish broadcaster TV2 being threatened by Qatari authorities while live on air. Despite the fact that the first game will be between two of the lower ranked teams in the tournament, the hosts will therefore be keen to put on a spectacle in Sunday's opening ceremony, with millions of viewers expected to watch on. Sportsmail has all the specifics, with the opening ceremony fast approaching.
