Career
Noor started early on her musical journey, appearing locally from the age of 8. At 15, she had signed a Warner Music recording deal. She then began collaborating with Stargate (production team) to produce her first album. Stargate's international reputation as R&B/Soul producers came as a result of the album's success.
Curious, Noor's debut album, was released in 1999 and became one of the first well-known Scandinavian R&B albums. On MTV's "The Lick" series, "Need You" was also played often. Curious also did well in Japan, with more than 40,000 sales. Noor was diagnosed with tuberculosis five years before the debut of her second album, All I Am, in 2004. The collection featured more self-penned songs, many of which were written in collaboration with US and UK songwriters. She is also on Madcon's 2007 album So Dark the Confession of Man and a few Tommy Tee debuts. In addition, Noor appeared in Maria Magdalen in a big outdoor version of Jesus Christ Superstar.
Soul Deep, Norway's most recent album, was met with rave reviews in March 2009 and was rated 6 "dice" in Norway's biggest newspaper Verdens Gang. It's also featured members of Little Charlie & The Nightcats on recorded in San Jose, California, with local blues and soul singers. Kid Andersen, the Norwegian band's guitar virtuoso, was the producer. The album was released outside of Norway in 2010, with the first single in Benelux, which was released in April/May 2010.
Noor was one of the participants of the Norwegian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Norway, the Melodi Grand Prix's third edition, in March 2011.
