Noah Gundersen Life

Noah Gundersen (born May 31, 1989) is an American indie folk singer-songwriter from Seattle.

Early life

Born in Olympia, Washington, Gundersen is the fifth generation of five biological and three adopted siblings in a family that immigrated to Central Washington, Washington, to homestead when he was five years old. Gundersen was homeschooled in a conservative Christian household. He began piano lessons at the age of 13 and later learned to play the guitar. Gundersen left home to pursue a career in music and began appearing at venues around Seattle at the age of 18.

Gundersen formed Beneath Oceans, his first band, as an adolescent, with a few classmates from his high school. Gundersen, Michael Porter on lead guitar, and Keelan O'Hara on drums were among the band's members.

Noah Gundersen Career

Career

Gundersen's first EP, Brand New World, was released in 2008. He began to perform in Seattle early in his career. Gundersen is said to be inspired by Ryan Adams, Dashboard Confessional, and Neil Young, among other things.

Gundersen formed The Courage in 2008 with friends and his then-16-year-old sister. As he performed Brand New World songs at bars and cafes around Washington state, the group served as his backbone. Live at the Triple Door debuted in 2008 as Noah Gundersen & The Courage. The band performed at the Sisters Folk Festival in 2008 and 2010, then went further, releasing their debut album, Fearless Bones, in 2010.

While also starring and recording with The Courage, Gundersen remained focused on his solo career. Saints & Liars was his second EP, and it was released in 2009. A rough recording of the EP first appeared on the producer's desk, who mixed the EP for complete release. Mendez began working with Gundersen in 2011 and was the subject of a sequel to EP "Matering".

Prosecutors Kurt Sutter selected Gundersen's title song "Family" for the hit FX TV show Sons of Anarchy, pushing his career further into the mainstream. Sutter requested that Gundersen and The Forest Rangers produce an original song for the show in 2014, and the album "Day Is Gone" was later nominated for an Emmy Award for Original Music and Lyrics. On The Vampire Diaries on the CW, the song "Family" appeared. The track "David" was also used in a Fox TV series The Following's 2015 episode.

Gundersen self-produced his debut album, Ledges, at Seattle's Studio Litho, which was owned by Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard in 2014. The album was based on topics such as faith, death, and past intimate relationships. With his song "Poor Man's Son," which was originally recorded on the Live at the Triple Door album with The Courage, Gundersen's career expanded into indie folk herodom, including a spotlight on The Originals. Gundersen's debut album was also sold exclusively to concertgoers, with the song "Twenty-Something" on the front page. Tracks from the EP were also available online from Ledges' deluxe edition.

Following up his smash hit record Ledges, Gundersen returned to the studio to record his second album, Carry the Ghost, which was released in 2015. The album explores the challenges of fame, failed marriages, misplaced faith, and sexuality. Gundersen has said he was inspired by Neil Young's album Tonight's the Night. Gundersen contributed to the creation of the David Ramirez album Fables, which was released on August 28.

Gundersen reunited with colleagues from his high school band, Beneath Oceans, after a lull in his tour schedule. The band first reunited as a joke, and they began to perform old songs from their youth. "We reconnected to see if the old songs were still good," Gundersen said of the reunion. They weren't around when we started writing new ones on December 1, 2015. The band's first album, Young in the City, was released on December 1, 2015. The press was followed by live performances in the Seattle area and a second EP titled II on October 7, 2016.

In July 2017, Gundersen announced the release of White Noise, a new solo LP that had been announced on September 22, 2017. It was a departure from his earlier albums' style, with a much heavier, more rock-inspired sound. The final track of the LP, Send the rain (to everyone), was included in The Good Doctor season three finale and in Station 19's third season third episode.

Gundersen revealed on June 21, 2019 the forthcoming debut of another solo LP, Lover, which was released on August 23, 2019. "Robin Williams" was released on the album's same day as a single on the record.

Gundersen, 20,21, confessed to being engaged, bought a house, and that his new album would be released "later this year," while also announcing that a new Young in the City EP "is finished and will be released shortly."

On August 30, Gundersen posted a blue and white graphic teasing what seemed to be lyrics paired with the number "11," which followers quickly discovered was a countdown. On September 10, Gundersen unveiled "Sleepless in Seattle," which had previously been featured on his "Songs and Conversations" livestream series that premiered during the COVID-19 pandemic. Gundersen also revealed that the album would be released as the eighth track on his solo album A Pillar of Salt, which was released on October 8 via his label, Cooking Vinyl.
