Personal life
Cassidy was on-off with Adam Cottrell, a Bristol transportation manager, between 2009 and 2013. They have a daughter together. In 2011, Cottrell was sentenced to 120 hours of unpaid work for attacking Cassidy at their home in Hertfordshire. At an East Hertford Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to assault and criminal harm earlier this year. Cottrell was also banned from contacting the actress for two years as a result of a restraining order. They reunited and became engaged after Cassidy gave Cottrell a "sober up or leave" ultimatum, but they broke permanently in 2013.
Cassidy has been involved in a photographic friendship with cameraman Marc Humphreys since 2014. Cassidy attended the Anna Scher Theatre as an infant. She appeared on EastEnders in 1993, playing Sonia Jackson. Cassidy appeared in an episode of The Catherine Tate Show on BBC Two in 2006.
