Early life
Busby, who was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, always dreamed of being an actress. She loved being an audience from the start of her youth, and she continued to attend every theater school performance from the start. Busby was accepted into Dawson College's Professional Theater Program after graduating from high school and was accepted among hundreds of applicants.
Career
Starting out in theater in 2005, she moved to television and film, becoming the first lead in the story of Canadian medical hero Norman Bethune, which filmed in rural China for two and a half months and attracted many million viewers. Busby appeared as Ashley Stanton, a wealthy, self-righteous, competitive horseback rider, in the Lifetime original film A Life Interrupted opposite Lea Thompson, and she also appeared in a series regular role on the series Heartland in 2006. The series has been nominated for several Gemini Awards, as well as winning a Directors Guild of Canada award, and has become one of Canada's most popular programs.
Busby was the lead antagonist in the film Picture This is the film that appeared alongside Ashley Tisdale, Shenae Grimes, and Kevin Pollak in 2008 and 2009. In 2011, she appeared on Fox 2000 Pictures' The Big Year, in which she was seen alongside Steve Martin, Jack Black, and Owen Wilson.
Busby appeared on CW shows Supernatural, The L.A. Complex, and The Secret Circle in 2012.
