Subha Nagalakshmi Munchetty-Chengetty (born 25 February 1975), also known as Naga Munchetty, is an English television presenter and journalist.

In Uckfield, Sussex, Naga married ITV broadcast consultant James Haggar in 2007. She lives in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, and has three cats.
Munchetty plays jazz trumpet and classical piano. She plays golf, with a handicap of nine in 2015. She won the Hertford de Paula Cup at Bishop's Stortford Golf Club in October 2012. She is now a committee member of Moor Park Golf Club, where she also supports the annual Charity Golf Day in June.

Early life and career
Munchetty was born and grew up in Streatham, South London. Her mother is from Tamil Nadu, India, and her father is from Mauritius; they both migrated to Wales, where she studied dentistry and her father's education has prepared her to be a nurse. They married in London, but not before they had done it, so they didn't tell their parents until they had done it. Mimi is her younger sister. Graveney School in Tooting provided her with her early education. She studied English Literature and Language at the University of Leeds, graduating in 1997. On the London Evening Standard's City Pages, she began working as a journalist. She spent her time with The Observer's Business Section.
Career
Munchetty's television work began as a reporter for Reuters Financial Television, as a senior producer for CNBC Europe, a business reporter and reporter for Channel 4 News, and a host on Bloomberg Television.
Munchetty joined Working Lunch after the show was revived in October 2008 and stayed with the program until it was cancelled in July 2010. Munchetty has hosted Radio 4's Money Box. She also covers the city for BBC News, gauging the reaction to breaking financial news including Budget and the Pre-Budget Report.
Munchetty has been on the BBC News Channel and BBC World News since August 2010. She is a regular presenter on BBC One's Breakfast. Munchetty appeared on CBBC sketch show Class Dismissed in 2017, playing a fictionalized version of herself as a Media Studies instructor who appears as a newsreader.
Munchetty was found to have broken the BBC's rules by criticizing US President Donald Trump for apparent bigotry in September 2019. Munchetty said in July that when hosting BBC Breakfast with Dan Walker, he disagreed with Trump's remarks encouraging his followers to "go back" to the "places from which they came." "I have been told, as a person of color, to return to where I came from every time." Munchetty said. Now, I'm not accusing anyone of anything here, but you do know what those words mean."
The BBC was chastised for its decision to ignore protests regarding Munchetty's remarks. Several public figures, including Lenny Henry and Adrian Lester, wrote an open letter urging the corporation to reconsider its decision against her.
The allegation was also lodged against her co-host Dan Walker, according to The Guardian on September 30, 2019, but his remarks were not the subject of the BBC's executive complaints unit (ECU) probe. After looking at it more closely, BBC Director-General Tony Hall reversed the decision later that day.
