Nadine Chandrawinata is an Indonesian actress, model, and beauty pageant champion who was crowned Puteri Indonesia 2005.

She has delegated Indonesia to the Miss Universe pageant in 2006.

She was the second member of Puteri Indonesia (Miss Universe Indonesia) to compete in the pageant (preced by Artika Sari Devi) following a long absence in 1996.

She stands 175 cm (52 lb) in height and 60 kg (122 lb) in weight.

Early life

Nadine was born to parents Andy Chandrawinata (Chinese and Javanese) and Elfriede Fortmann (German). Marcel Chandrawinata and Mischa Chandrawinata, both model and actor, are twins who play the role. Nadine graduated from the London School of Public Relations in Jakarta. Dimas Anggara, a famous actress, was married at a Lombok resort on July 7, 2018. Nadine and Dimas married in Bhutan in Buddhist tradition on May 5, 2018. On July 15, 2018, the second wedding reception will be held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Career

Nadine was in Upi Avianto's drama, Real, Love, and Rock'n Roll (2006), in which she would make her film debut and with fellow actress Herjunot Ali, Agni Pratistha's ex-boyfriend, and is Agni Pratistha's ex-boyfriend. She served as F1 ambassador for the 2006 Petronas Malaysian F1 Grand Prix. She is also a commercial actress of Kiranti.

Nadine was arrested by the Islamic Front Defenders (Front Pembela Islam) on July 19, 2006, for her participation in the Miss Universe 2006 beauty Pageant. She was accused of violating Article 281, edict number 02/U/1984, on Cultural and Educational Conduct. Any kind of participation in beauty pageants is outlawed by Indonesian law, which is regarded as indecency. Nadine was one of many people arrested for this misdemeanor, as well as Puteri Indonesia 2004 and the Miss Indonesia Foundation's Artika Sari Devi and the Miss Indonesia Foundation.

Nadine began her career as an environmental activist with the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia, a position she continues to hold today. She also formed her own advocacy group, "Seasoldier," to raise hopes of the country's plastic pollution in the ocean, as well as other topics such as mangrove deforestation and illegal dolphin capture. She was chosen because of her integrity and the fact that there were no negative comments during her tenure as Puteri Indonesia. Nadine Chandrawinata was named as the "Tourism Advocate for New Zealand Tourism" by New Zealand Minister of Tourism in July 2017 to promote New Zealand eco-tourism.
