Personal life
Timo Kulczak, her dancing partner, was married to her from 2003 until she died. After 11 years of marriage in 2014, the pair divorced.
It was announced in 2015 that she and her dance partner, Evgenij Voznyuk, were in a romantic relationship. She became Motsi Mabuse-Voznyuk in a small civil ceremony before hosting with more guests in Mallorca in 2017 and having their daughter the following year. The couple run a dance school in Germany, where Mabuse has been based for more than 20 years, despite their television commitments.
Dancing career
Mabuse had intended to become a solicitor and join the family law firm, but she became fascinated by dancing while attending the University of Pretoria. She went back to dancing in 1998, and she was runner up in national championships. Timo Kulczak, her dance and romantic partner, was discovered in Blackpool at the British Open Championships the following year. They married in 2003 and won international dance competitions from their home in Germany. In 2013, she won the German Latin dance competition with Ukrainian dancer Evgenij Voznyuk.
Media career
Mabuse made her debut in Germany in 2007 during the second season of RTL dance show Let's Dance, in which she performed with singer and former Eurovision Song Contest participant Guildo Horn. In the fifth show, the couple was disqualified and finished in 6th place, with their sixth show taking second place. She appeared on the show with Rolf Scheider, a former judge of Germany's Next Topmodel, in 2010 and took fifth place. They had already been eliminated in the first episode, but Arthur Abraham's voluntary retirement helped them revived. Since 2011, Mabuse has served on the judging panel with Joachim Llambi and Jorge Gonzalez.
Mabuse was part of the 2010 FIFA World Cup's ARD broadcasting crew and gave background reports from South Africa. Bruce Darnell was substituted by her in 2011 on the jury of the fifth season of Das Supertalent. In 2015, she became a judge on the German version of Stepping Out.
She made her debut as an actress at the 66th Bad Hersfelder Festspiele in The Crucible, directed by Dieter Wedel in 2016. Curvy Supermodel – Real.
