Early life
Karim was born in Khilgaon to a Bengali family. He characterized his acting ability as a result of his early participation in school theater. In 1986, he graduated from secondary school. Karim was in 1989-1991 when Tariq Anam Khan conducted an audition for 1400 people and 25 of those were chosen to work in the theater. Karim was one of them. He joined the theater troupe "Nattokendro" and spent 16 years as a director. Karim came on television in 1999 with the single-episode TV play Atithi, directed by Ferdous Hasan and broadcast on Channel I. Mosharraf Karim has been a regular on the television screen since February 2005. He shifted his name from Mosharraf Hossain to Mosharraf Karim shortly after the 2005. According to him, the surname, Karim, was taken from his father's name.
Career
Karim appeared in two major television shows in 2004. One of those roles was for the popular television film Kyarom, where he appeared alongside co-artist Nusrat Tisha. Mosharraf Karim played the central role in only one scene before starring in the play Kyarom. That was 'Hefaz Bhai' directed by Syed Awlad.
Karim appeared in his first film, Third Person Singular Number, with co-artist Nusrat Imroz Tisha. On Channel I, he appeared in his first drama serial 420. Anik was the main protagonist.
