Moses Pendleton (born March 28, 1949) is a choreographer, dancer, and MOMIX's artistic director.
MOMIX is a dance company that he formed in 1981 as an offshoot of the Pilobolus, which he had co-founded as a senior at Dartmouth College in 1971.
He was a full-time employee with the company until 1980.
He choreographs dance sculptures that blend acrobatics, gymnastics, mime, costumes, and film.
Early years
In Lyndon, Vermont, a boy was born and raised on a dairy farm. At the Caledonia County Fair, Pendleton displayed Holstein Friesians.
He attended Dartmouth College, graduating in 1971 with a BA in English Literature. He co-founded Pilobolus, which gained international recognition for its blend of acrobatics, body sculpture, and humor in the same year. In 1977, Pierre Cardin introduced the company on Broadway. Pendleton left the company to begin MOMIX four years later.
