Million Wolde (born March 17, 1979) is an Ethiopian runner of the 5000 meters at the 2000 Summer Olympics. Million Wolde competed in the 1996 World Junior Championships in Sydney, placing sixth in the 3000 m steeplechase.
He finished eighth in the Junior World Cross-Country Championships in Annecy, France, in 1998, and he took second place in the final junior championships over 8 kilometers. Wolde, a road runner from Ethiopia, competed in the 1998 World Road Relay Championships in Manaus, Brazil.
Ethiopia eventually came in second second to Kenya after Wolde had just a slim lead in the first 5 kilometers leg. But the true fame came when Wolde won the bronze medal in the 3000 meters at the World Indoor Championships in Maebashi in 1999 and then finished eighth in the 5000 meters at the World Championships in Seville later this year.
In 1999 and 2000, Wolde placed fourth in the senior men's short course (4 km) in Belfast and 15th at the same distance in Vilamoura, Portugal. In the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games, Wolde's career came as he was only twenty two years old.
With no one around to set a good time, Wolde bided his time and then sprinted past the leaders in 13:35.49, ahead of second placed Ali Sagdi-Sief of Algeria and Morocco's Brahim Lahlafi.
Wolde's career has hampered his work in recent years, but he was still in competition in Edmonton, Canada, as of 2008.
He lives in Tarrytown, NY, and has participated in numerous local races as of 2015.
