Mike Brey, the former Notre Dame head coach, will join the Atlanta Hawks' coaching staff next season, according to the South Bend Tribune and ESPN. During the 2022-23 season, Brey resigned from his longtime position at Notre Dame. He hasn't been given a contract with the Hawks, and his future with the Hawks has yet to be determined. Atlanta is the No. 1 in the country. In the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs, the 7 seed will meet the Boston Celtics. Brey will not join the team until the Hawks' playoff run is complete.

According to various sources, Penn State men's basketball coach Micah Shrewsberry is leaving State College, Pennsylvania, for Notre Dame. Following Mike Brey's departure, the Fighting Irish will be inherited by Shrewsberry, who had been in charge of Notre Dame since 2000. After a combined 14 seasons of head coaching and assistant coaching positions in South Bend in the northern part of the Hoosier State, the Indiana native will be headed to South Bend.
