Despite severe challenges, millions of recall Hyundais and Kias are able to continue on the road. Here's why

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 2, 2024
Despite being recalled more than six months ago, millions of Hyundai and Kia models with alarming fire risks remain on American highways. In September, the two automakers announced a recall of 3.4 million of their US vehicles, fearing that a design fault with the anti-lock brake system could result in fires when the cars are parked or being driven. However, the majority of people are unrependered on the road, putting owners, their families, and potentially others in risk of fires that could extend to garages, houses, or other vehicles. This is in part due to the size of the recall, which is one of the largest ever conducted. Hyundai owns a portion of Kia, but the two businesses operate independently.
