www.dailymail.co.uk, April 11, 2024
Premier League clubs have voted unanimously for a major new rule change at today's shareholders' meeting. The new rule is set to be brought in next season, but will not be ready for the start of the campaign.  It will impact how offside calls are made moving forward in England's top division, and will come into effect after one of the international breaks, meaning it will be introduced as early as September or as late as November.

Wolves boss Gary O'Neil is charged by the FA over furious reaction to ruled-out equaliser against West Ham - with head coach facing potential touchline ban for his actions at Molineux

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 11, 2024
TOM COLLOMOSSE: Gary O'Neil faces a potential touchline ban after he was handed an FA charge following his furious reaction when Wolves were denied a late equaliser last Saturday. Wolves thought Max Kilman had made it 2-2 deep into stoppage time against West Ham only for the goal to be chalked off after a long VAR check, as substitute Tawanda Chirewa was judged to have impeded Hammers goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski from an offside position. O'Neil labelled the call 'possibly the worst decision I have ever seen' and now looks set to pay the price for his outspoken reaction.

GOALS' PASSION AT MOLINEUX: ROSS HEPPENSTALL AT MOLINEUX – David Moyes' team won despite a controversial disallowed goal by Wolves captain Max Kilman's to gain victory ahead of their Europa League match. In a pre-season friendly, the Hammers were thrashed 4-0 by Leverkusen, but goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski said: 'We now have a great experience because we now know what to expect.'

After losing to West Ham's last-gasp disallowed goal, Wolves chairman Jeff Shimp has urged the Premier League to investigate the use of VAR and hits out at the level of refereeing

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 7, 2024
After a video review in the 99th minute of stoppage time, Max Kilman's last-gasp equalizer was disapproved, a decision that enraged boss Gary O'Neil. Following the final whistle, O'Neil was escorted out of the referee's room and told the authorities that the call was 'possibly the worst I've ever seen.' Shi has now pleaded with decision makers to address club fears. Kilman went beyond Lukasz Fabianski for one of the game's final kicks, but only for VAR Tim Robinson to spot Tawanda Chirewa in an offside position in front of the goalkeeper. Referee Tony Harrington was then compelled to look at his pitchside monitor, according to him.

Why Max Kilman's 99th-minute equaliser for Wolves against West Ham was ruled out by VAR in their 2-1 defeat - as Gary O'Neil declares it 'one of the worst decisions I've ever witnessed'

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 7, 2024
Wolves thought they had won a late equalizer in their Premier League match against West Ham, but Max Kilman's header was disallowed in a decision that both bemused and angered in equal measures. Gary O'Neil was post-match and furious at the VAR call, calling it a "constitutional call." Terrible. Horrendous.' When Kilman went into the net, he was in an offside position, in close proximity to Hammers keeper Lukasz Fabianski.

'Scandalous.' Terrible. Horrendous': Gary O'Neil RAGES as Wolves fall victim to another controversial VAR decision with late equaliser against West Ham ruled out

www.dailymail.co.uk, April 6, 2024
After losing 2-1 to West Ham on Saturday, Gary O'Neil raged against VAR's decision to rule out Max Kilman's stoppage time equalizer for Wolves. After 85 minutes to lead the visitors, James Ward-Prowse scored right from a corner, but there was more late drama at Molineux. After a VAR check, Kilman's header was scratched off because Tawanda Chirewa was standing offside and playing with play by blocking goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.

Gary O'Neil will be given a lucrative new deal for his debut season, with the club just four points off a European spot and in the FA Cup quarter-finals

www.dailymail.co.uk, March 7, 2024
After a spectacular first season in charge, Gary O'Neil will be given a new deal by Wolves with significant compensation increase. Bournemouth's former chief took the reins less than a week before the season got underway, with nearly £150 million worth of talent sold by the end of August. His initial mission was simply to keep Wolves in the Premier League in the face of financial uncertainty. However, O'Neil has been so good that Wolves have a slim chance of qualifying for Europe next season. They currently sit 10th in the table, four points behind West Ham in seventh, and they will qualify for the FA Cup semi-finals against Championship club Coventry at Molineux next Saturday.

GARY O'NEIL, the meticulous manager that all clubs are keeping an eye on, meets OLIVER HOLT, who discovers why he's so different, his ideas on 'cheating,' and why he's still feels tense

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 23, 2024
VIEW EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW BY OLIVER HOLT CHIEF SPORTS WRITER: Gary O'Neil knocks on the door before entering the Wolverham Wanderers training ground's spartan meeting room. It's only a small detail. However, most Premier League bosses would not be knocked. They wouldn't be concerned. They didn't check until they marched in. Let's face it: Most Premier League managers will need someone to open the door for them. Another small detail. Some people have noted that the plain top O'Neil is wearing is black. It's black, and the photographer has said it will go with the background for the portrait of O'Neil, which he is planning to photograph. The top is a dark navy, as O'Neil points out. Not because he's some sort of fashionista. As a matter of fact, it's just as a matter of fact. If it's important, it might be worthwhile. Because it is a specific matter. And the fine details. It's all about the details. It's one of the things that distinguishes him as he starts a new full season as a boss in the Premier League. He knows that about himself. He is proud of it. He prides himself on his preparations, emphasizing how he makes sure his players are safe for whatever comes. He has got it covered in case of an emergency.

The most distance covered this season has been mapped in the Premier League heat maps, but who dominates the list?

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 17, 2024
With some clubs having played up to 25 games out of the 38 in a domestic campaign, the 2023/23 campaign is going to the final straight. Larger sample sizes mean they can be trusted more as a source of trends, and one of the most common metrics when judging teams is the distance covered by players during games. While it's normal for a team's total distance to be looked at, especially in ay particular game, perhaps less so are players' distances

After Andre Onana's 'assault' on Max Kilman, Richard Keys rails condemns the team's inability to give Wolves a penalty against Man United, the team's first game of the season - claiming it was 'identical' to the one before

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 2, 2024
Richard Keys has screamed out at Man United's Andre Onana after he clattered into Max Kilman during their 4-3 victory over Wolves on Thursday, defiant. The television broadcaster characterized it as 'identical' to a contentious challenge that the goalkeeper faced on the ostensible day of the season. Man United defeated Wolves 1-0 at Old Trafford in August, but Onana had almost forfeited a penalty on his Premier League debut after he clattered into Sasa Kalajdzic as he climbed in the air to get a cross.

WONDERS OF THE PYRAMID: A magical cup run can put your club on the map, just ask Lincoln City - it's impossible not to remember their journey seven years ago when you take a look at Maidstone's triumph this year

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 1, 2024
MIDDERS OF THE PYRAMID: Lincoln is a living and breathing example of such a cup run for a non-league team. Of course, they are no longer a non-league team, with the Imps now in their seventh season in the Football League, and fifth in League One. The cup was won by Danny and Nicky Cowley in 2021, as an unusual occurrence in a county without electricity, putting the club on a collision course.

Despite being under NO pressure to dismiss captain Max Kilman last year, the Wolves are under NO pressure to let them know FFP guidelines... as West Ham identifies center back as one of their top priorities, should Nayef Aguerd leave, should Nayef Aguerd depart

www.dailymail.co.uk, January 10, 2024
TOM COLLOMOSSE: In the midst of growing interest in West Ham's center-back, the Wolves are under no financial pressure to fire captain Max Kilman this month. Nayef Aguerd, who is currently preparing for the Africa Cup of Nations with Morocco, has been named as one of the Hammers' top priorities, and he will leave the club in January. Last summer, Kilman was convicted by Napoli, with Wolves turning down a bid of about £30 million from the Italian champions.

On TNT, Joleon Lescott said, 'It just give a new generation of fans an insight into how warm-ups work.'

THE NOTEBOOK: Wolves have almost completely changed in 18 months, Mason Mount's debut is one to forget, and Gary Neville writes off Man United's title chances on day one!

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 14, 2023
TOM COLLOMOSSE AT OLD TRAFFORD — Just 18 months have passed since Wolves' most impressive start to the Premier League in 2018, when Joao Moutinho's goal gave them a 1-0 victory over Old Trafford on January 3, 2022. However, goalkeeper Jose Sa was one of only three players to be named in Gary O'Neil's first starting lineup last night, despite the fact that such has been the case at Molineux. That evening, Max Kilman and Nelson Semedo, along with Moutinho, Ruben Neves, Raul Jimenez, and Conor Coady were all on duty.

According to news, Julen Lorenzogui is considering leaving Wolves just nine months after arriving in Molineux. Since arriving at the club in November 2022, the Spanish coach was credited with rebuilding the team's ailing side and then led them to a respectable 13th-place finish at the end of the 2022-23 season. But Lorenzegui first sparked eyebrows as the season came to an end, when he wondered whether he would be able to remain at the club due to their tighter transfer policy.

Julen Loegui says the 'great disappointment' of Wolves' halting transfers to comply with Premier League rules is questionable

www.dailymail.co.uk, July 26, 2023
TOM COLLOMOSSE: The three words that terrify virtually every top-flight club right now are 'financial,' fair' and 'play,' and 'play'. Wolves is the newest club to find themselves in a stalemate with Premier League budget policies. Wolves haven't stifled their transfer spending, rather than halting them. They have swung into an emergency stop, leaving boss Julen Lorenzo uncomplained and supporters restless with fewer than three weeks to go before their campaign against Manchester United starts on August 14. Lochiegui has expressed his 'deep disappointment' at Wolves' lack of wriggle space in the market, as he did in May. The Spaniard talked to Guillem Balague's Pure Football podcast: "We went to a plan B, trying to find cost-effective players, but we can't implement this strategy." We lost a lot of players, and the club seems to want to sell more players.

With Max Kilman expected to STAY and sign a new contract, Wolves could re-sign Matt Doherty on a free transfer

www.dailymail.co.uk, July 11, 2023
TOM COLLOMOSSE: Matt Doherty may return to Wolves on a free transfer if the club's search for their first summer signing. Since his short-term deal with Atletico Madrid came to an end at the end of last season, the Republic of Ireland international is on sale for nothing. And with Wolves' operation within tight constraints in the transfer market, bringing a veteran Premier League player for nothing is a win-forteignation.

www.dailymail.co.uk, July 4, 2023
Despite already selling Nathan Collins and Conor Coady, TOM COLLOMOSSE: Despite already selling centre-backs Nathan Collins and Conor Coady, the Wolves are poised to let Max Kilman leave the club. Napoli's first attempt to raise money for Kilman has already had a £30 million bid turned down, but it is believed that a £35 million bid would be enough to get the job done. They are trying to replace Kim Min-jae, who will join Bayern after the German champions announced that they would pay their £45 million release clause.
