Could NATO withstand a Russian onslaught? How militaries in the European alliance compare to Putin's depleted troops, as well as how they'd be able to withstand an attack

www.dailymail.co.uk, February 5, 2024
Despite its military wounds being visible to the world, Russia has halted Ukraine's eastward march and ground the war to a halt of hundreds of miles, fortifying the frontlines with mines, trenches, and artillery. On the battlefield, Moscow has summoned more conscripts and reformed its forces. It features more troops, new armoured vehicles, and a new source of artillery from its allies North Korea and Iran. Drones are also being used extensively. With time now working in Putin's favour, Western military figures are concerned that he will soon set his sights on NATO's eastern flank and nations that, like Ukraine, were once behind the Soviet Union's Iron Curtain. If he does, is concerned that NATO may be powerless to avoid a first wave of assaults on its smaller members in the immediate Russian warpath.

Orban said that Hungary was protesting Brussels' decision to divide out the costs of hosting asylum seekers around the bloc, or at least contribute to the costs of that. He regularly clashes with the EU, not just on migration but also on topics such as media and judicial autonomy, as well as LGBTQ rights.
