Mary Pat Gleason (born February 23, 1950) is an American film and television actress and an Emmy Award winning writer.

From 1983–85, she appeared on The Guiding Light as Jane Hogan. Since the early 1980s she has appeared on such television series as Full House, Dear John, Murphy Brown, Empty Nest, L.A. Life and career

Gleason was born in Lake City, Minnesota, and the niece of Mary Elizabeth (Kane) and Harold Clifford Gleason. She appeared in a Theater St. Paul production of Once Upon a Mattress during her high school years in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Dorothy's first screen appearance was in 1982 episode of Texas, a NBC soap opera. She appeared on Full House, Dear John, Murphy Brown, Empty Nest, Los Angeles, and Step by Step, among many others. She appeared in more than 50 feature films, including I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, Basic Instinct, Traffic Bruce Almighty, 13 Bruce Almighty, The Island, Killing Kennedy, and Nina. In one of her last appearances, she portrayed Professor Foxtrot in CollegeHumor's animated web series WTF 101.
