Mark Harman Life

Mark David Harman (born 30 June 1964) was a retired English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Somerset County Cricket Club and Kent County Cricket Club from 1986 to 1989. Harman was born in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, in 1964, but he didn't make it to his first appearance in Somerset's Second XI until he was 17, but he had to wait longer than five years before starting his career: he was a better batsman and a rare Test off-spinner. * In two seasons of first-team cricket with Somerset, he appeared in just nine first-class and three limited-overs matches. * At the end of the 1987 season, he transferred to Kent. Kent introduced more regular first-team cricket, but Harman was heavily limited to the first-class squad, winning only one List A match in his two years with the county. * The 1988 season saw his best bowling performance, taking five wickets against Oxford University. Harman reverted to being a fringe player in 1989 after being involved in half of Kent's first-class matches. * He had his best match return against Cambridge University with nine wickets for 136 runs, but was picked for just one other match, and at the end of the season, Harman continued to play cricket for Frome Cricket Club. He has worked on both sides of the club and chaired the club's Cricket Committee in 2016, as well as playing alongside his son in club matches.
