Mario Bennett Career

College career

Bennett, the youngest of four children, was an early draft candidate for the 1995 NBA Draft despite being in school for four years because he missed the entire 1992–93 season recovering from knee surgery. Despite the fact that he was only in for three years, he was first in all-time in blocked shots (191) and field goal percentage (.587) and eighth in rebounding (675). With 115, he tied the Pac-10 single-season record for blocks, and he was only the third Sun Devils player to score 600 or more points in a season. With 219 dunks, the versatile forward ended his career. Bennett missed all of 1992–93 and the first six games of the 1993–94 season while recovering from left knee surgery to restore anterior cruciate ligament tears.

He finished his 87-game college career with 32.3 minutes, 15.7 percent shooting, 70.8 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.1 blocks.

NBA career

Bennett, the first Sun Devil to be drafted in 12 years after Byron Scott, was the first Sun Devil to be drafted in the first round of the 1995 NBA Draft with the 27th overall pick. Bennett was the top rebounder for Phoenix in the preseason with 8.8 rpg, but he underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on Nov. 1. He spent four months on the injured list before playing in 19 late-season games for the Suns. He was waived by the Suns on ten/29/96. In 7 games for Grand Rapids and Yakima of the CBA, he averaged 8.0 ppg and 6.3 rpg.

He was signed by the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent on September 21, 1997, and played in 45 games between 1997 and 1998, averaging 3.9 points and 2.8 rebounds per game in limited action. Mario Bennett became a free agent with the Chicago Bulls in 1998-99 and was waived by the Bulls on 2/16/99. In the 1999-2000 season, he appeared in just one game for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Bennett has career averages of 4.0 points on 54.9% FG and 51.1 percent FT, as well as 2.7 rebounds on 8.9 minutes per game. On separate occasions, he set career records of 21 points and 14 rebounds.

Overseas career

He made a name for himself in Europe at Montpellier in 2003. In the Philippine Basketball Association, he was sent to practice for San Miguel Beermen. He returned to France to have a stellar season with Paris Basket Racing.

The man with a tattooed body from top to bottom (eyes in the back, Mario Bros on the arm, a basketball player on the calf), retired from the Russian team Avtodor Saratov, turned his attention east for the Russian team. Bennett left his team amicably after a few games in Russia.

He joined the Fastlink Aman team after a stint in the CBA (Jordan). His stint there was interrupted due to knee injuries, and he needed to seek medical attention for it. He returned to play with KB Mabetex Prishtina in Kosovo after a knee injury.

He joined Dijon at the age of 32, whose coach Monclar knew his skills. The duration, during which he averaged ten points and nine rebounds, culminated in a pick for the All Star game. Bennett's season was interrupted in January 2007 due to a fractured metatarsal.

Bennett was involved in a nightclub in Bucharest, where he claimed security guards assaulted him violently, resulting in head and legs damage.
