Early life and career

Dodd was born in Yuba City, California, on March 10, 1978, the third of four children. Her father is a retired agricultural consultant, and her mother is a piano teacher. She attended Bethany College in Santa Cruz, California, where she earned a major in music from 1997 to 1999. She matriculated in 1999 and then matriculated in 2001 at Azusa Pacific University, graduating in 2001. She was first cast as a singing princess in Disneyland after graduation. She appeared as Belle and Snow White during a three-year tenure. Colin Follenweider, a Hollywood stunt double, met her husband, Colin Follenweider, at Disneyland. They have two children together.

Sandy in a regional production of Grease was Dodd's first non-Disney work. She performed understudies in We Will Rock You and Hairspray's Las Vegas productions before becoming a cast member of Wicked.
