Nicomaine Dei Capili Mendoza (born March 3, 1995) is a Filipino actress, comedienne, host, television and internet personality, product endorser, and singer-songwriter.

She is best known for her viral Dubsmash videos and her appearance as Yaya Dub in the noontime variety show Eat Bulaga. The segment "Kalyeserye" originally aired on GMA Network and internationally via GMA Pinoy TV.

Her meteoric rise to fame is often attributed to the unscripted formation of an AlDub love team in Eat Bulaga. She was paired with Alden Richards on July 16, 2015.

In "Kalyeserye," AlDub is a portmanteau of Richards' first name and Mendoza's appearance. Beyond Eat Bulaga! Mendoza was featured in the 2015 film My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore, in which she was named Best Supporting Actress at the 41st Metro Manila Film Festival.

She was the lead actress in Imagine You & Me, which also wrote and sang its theme song.

Mendoza has a passion for writing, having been a blogger long before she began to perform.

Yup, I Am That Girl, her first autobiographical book, was published in October 2017 as an unfiltered copy of her personal blog Pessimistic Optimist Bella.

Early life

Maine Mendoza was born on March 3, 1995 in Santa Maria, Bulacan, Philippines, to Mary Ann and Teodoro Mendoza. Mary Ann is an accountant who owns several gasoline stations in Bulacan, while Teodoro is an engineer who ventures into road construction. She has two brothers and two sisters. All of her siblings' names begin with "Nico."

She attended St. Paul College of Bocaue, Bulacan, where she graduated from high school. At De La Salle-College of St. Benilde, she obtained a bachelor's degree in hotel, restaurant, and institution administration major in culinary arts. She completed her internship at The Sagamore Hotel in Bolton Landing, New York.

Mendoza created a Dubsmash compilation on Facebook in the early part of 2015, in which she impersonated Kris Aquino and went viral with one million views overnight. In the Philippines, she was given the title "Queen of Dubsmash." She was later cast on Eat Bulaga as Yaya Dub (also known as Divina Bukbukova Smash), Lola Nidora's personal assistant (portrayed by Wally Bayola). The first "Juan For All, All For Juan" segment on "Juan For All" appeared on July 4, 2015. Her character was matched with fellow Eat Bulaga! On July 16, 2015, Alden Richards, a co-host of the show "Kalyeserye," did without a script. Both the couple became well-known as AlDub, a combination of Richards' first name and Mendoza's in "Kalyeserye." Their combination contributed to the rise of Eat Bulaga's TV ratings! Mendoza made her first appearance in a true teleserye in November 2015. She appeared in the TV sitcom Vampire Daddy Ko and as a guest star in the Sunday noontime variety show PinaSaya in December 2015.

Mendoza and Richards appeared in a 2015 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry entitled My Bebe Love #KiligPaMore with Vic Sotto and Ai de las Alas. Mendoza was included in the motion picture in Jose Javier Reyes, the film's producer. Anna Carillo, Vic Sotto's stubborn and rebellious child, appears in Mendoza's film Anna Carillo. The MMFF awarded her the Best Supporting Actress award for her work.

They appeared in the GMA Network's station ID commercial for Christmas in December 2015. Despite being a member of GMA, she is not a member of the GMA Artist Center, and her career is being handled by Triple A, Antonio P. Tuviera's talent management arm, who is the executive producer of Eat Bulaga!

Mendoza appeared in Eat Bulaga's Lenten season drama specials. In March 2016, there was a flurry of events in March. She reprised her role as Divina/Yaya Dub in Kaputol ng Buhay and starred as Dani in God Gave Me You, where she was nominated for Most Dramatic Performance by a Lead Star in Eat Bulaga. Mendoza and Richards starred in their first prime time television series Destined to be Yours in 2017, where Mendoza played Sinag Obispo, a radio DJ, and Benjie Rosales, an architect played by Richards. In an Eat Bulaga interview in October 2017, Mendoza and Richards made headlines! Love is... was a self-produced television film directed by Adolf Alix Jr. Mendoza has appeared in Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko. since December 2017, he has been on the radio in Daig Kayo ng Lola Ko.

Mendoza and Richards have done a variety of product endorsements, although Mendoza has appeared in a number of advertisements by herself. Mendoza and Richards appeared on YES' front page in July 2016. For the third time, the magazine ranked the most beautiful celebrities of 2016. Mendoza landed in the 21st position of FHM Philippines' 100 Sexiest Women for 2016 as a new entry in July 2017, while in July 2017, she climbed a few notches and ranked as the ninth sexiest woman. Mendoza was one of the Philippines' "25 iconic women" on the 25th anniversary of Mega Magazine, and she was one of the 25 different covers of their hard bound book Mega Stories. She was also featured on the front page of the Cosmopolitan Philippines magazine's 20th anniversary issue.

Mendoza defeated Kris Aquino as the top celebrity endorser in the Philippines in June 2017, according to Soltero Salazar of the Association of Philippine Advertisers. Soltero said that Aquino has been a top endorser since the 1990s, but the advertisers preferred Mendoza over her in 2017 when she departed from ABS-CBN in 2017, making her rarely seen in television. Mendoza became a top endorser thanks to her fame and wholesome image in 2016, earning 30 product endorsements.

Mendoza has been blogging since 2012, and she announced in April 2017 that she would publish a book in the second half of 2017; her blog is one of her inspirations in writing the book.
