Madeleine Madden (born January 29, 1997) is an Australian actress.

Early life

Madden grew up around Redfern, a Sydney inner city suburb, and attended Rose Bay Secondary College. Madden's daughter, Lee Madden, grew up in a liberal family; she is the granddaughter of activist and soccer player Charles Perkins; and the niece of writer and broadcaster Hetti Perkins. Rachel Perkins, her aunt, is a director. Miah Madden, an actress, has two older sisters and two younger half-sisters. In a car accident in 2003, their father died.

Career

Madden was the first teenager in Australia to give a national address in 2010 when she gave a two-minute address on Indigenous Australians' future. Any free-to-air television network in Australia had it broadcast to 6 million viewers.

Madden appeared in Australia's first Aboriginal drama, Ready for This, as well as in the widely applauded Redfern Now. She has appeared in The Moodys, Jack Irish, My Place, and The Code. She appeared in Tomorrow, When the War Began, which is based on the John Marsden series of young adult books. Marion Quade appeared in the miniseries Picnic at Hanging Rock, Crystal Swan in the TV miniseries Mystery Road and Immy DuPain's Pine Gap. In Amazon's adaptation of The Wheel of Time books, she currently appears as Egwene al'Vere.

Madden has appeared in short films directed by Deborah Mailman, Meryl Tankard, and Around the Block, a film co-starring Christina Ricci and Jack Thompson. She was 8 years old when she first started film acting. She aspires to be a director in the future.

Madden made her Hollywood debut in 2019 as Sammy in the Nickelodeon film Dora and the Lost City of Gold.
