Logan Paul Life

Logan Alexander Paul (born April 1, 1995) is an American YouTuber, internet personality and actor known for his YouTube video content.

As well as posting on his own YouTube channel, Paul has run the Impaulsive podcast since November 2018, which currently has over 2 million followers.Paul gained a following in 2013, posting sketches on the video-sharing application Vine.

He registered his YouTube channel, TheOfficialLoganPaul, on 18 October 2013, where he started posting regularly following the closure of the Vine app.

He later created the Logan Paul Vlogs channel on 29 August 2015, which has since become his most subscribed YouTube channel.

As of 9 November 2019, the channel has received over 20 million subscribers and 4.7 billion views, ranking as the fiftieth-most subscribed in the United States, and placing Paul among the top 130 subscribed channels on the platform. As an actor, Paul's television and film work includes guest appearances on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Weird Loners, and roles in films The Thinning (2016) and The Space Between Us (2017).

Paul has also expanded his content into other avenues; he released his debut single, "Help Me Help You" in 2017, and in 2018, fought British Youtuber Olajide Olatunji in an amateur white-collar boxing match.

The fight ended in a majority draw and has been labelled 'the largest event in YouTube history'.

In the subsequent rematch, which was a professional bout, Paul lost to Olatunji by split decision. Paul has been involved in several controversies, most notably in relation to a visit to Japan, during which he filmed the deceased corpse of a man who had hanged himself and posted the footage on his YouTube channel.

Early life and education

Paul grew up in Ohio with younger brother Jake, who is also a YouTuber and internet personality. Paul began creating internet videos for a YouTube channel called Zoosh when he was 10 years old. He attended Westlake High School, achieving the ranks of The Plain Dealer's All-Star linebacker on the football team in 2012, and qualifying for the state-level Ohio High School Athletic Association 2013 Division I Wrestling Individual Championships.

Personal life

Paul has English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, Jewish, and German ancestry. In October 2015, Paul lived in the same apartment complex on Hollywood and Vine in Hollywood, California as other social media celebrities including Amanda Cerny, Juanpa Zurita, and Andrew Bachelor, with his roommates Mark Dohner and Evan Eckenrode. This proximity facilitated various collaborations on their respective videos. In October 2017, Paul and Eckenrode relocated to an estate in Encino, California. In episode 179 of Impaulsive, Paul announced his plan to run for President of the United States, saying: "2032 is the first year I can run, but it’s probably going to be when I'm a grown-ass man with lots of intelligence and wisdom. Around 2050-ish, let's call it." In episode 198 of Impaulsive with guest Carl Lentz, who was pastor of Hillsong Church NYC at the time, Paul discussed religion, and described himself as "not overly religious". Paul also said that he was a Christian. He specified that he believes in a "creator", but he does not know what this creator's role would be in human's lives. The episode garnered mockery toward Paul, who initially claimed that Jews believe in Jesus as their god, before being corrected. In February 2021, Paul announced that he would be moving to Dorado, Puerto Rico from Los Angeles. He stated that the high taxes in California were the main motivator for the move. As of June 2021, he was living there in a $13 million mansion.

Paul claims he is red–green colorblind. He has been parodied and criticized by YouTube personalities such as Ethan Klein and iDubbbz for faking his reactions in a video in which he used color-corrective glasses for the first time. Paul himself admits that he "embellished" and "exaggerated his reactions" to the glasses, but added that he "did not lie" about his impairment. Paul revealed in an episode of Impaulsive that he tore the cartilage in his knee from a football injury that required him to stay out of school for 3 months. In February 2019, Paul claimed that he has long-term brain damage, which he sustained from playing high school football. He claims that Daniel Amen, the doctor who diagnosed him, says it affects his ability to have empathy and a human connection with others. When filming a video for his Vine channel in 2014, Paul attempted a stunt during which he landed on a chair and damaged his right testicle.

Logan Paul Career

YouTube career

Paul's YouTube channel had a modest following by the time he visited college on Vine. He majored in Industrial Engineering at Ohio University before dropping out in 2014 to pursue a career as a full-time social media entertainer in Los Angeles, transforming into an apartment complex with other Vine stars.

Paul came to prominence as a member of the Internet video sharing service Vine. He had over 3.1 million followers on various social media pages in February 2014. He had reached 105,000 Twitter followers, 361,000 Facebook followers, 31,000 likes, 31,000 likes on his Facebook page, and 150,000 viewers to his YouTube channel by April 2014. The first week it was announced, a YouTube compilation video of his Vine work attracted more than four million viewers. In 2015, he was ranked as the tenth most popular celebrity on Vine, with his six-second videos earning him hundreds of thousands of dollars in advertising sales. Facebook alone had more than 300 million views by the end of October. Logan uses the term "logang" to describe his gang and his first name, which is a portmanteau between his first name and "gang."

Paul appeared on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in early 2015. He appeared on Fox television show Weird Loners, where he appeared in the role of the Paul Twins. He appeared in two episodes of the Freeform series Stitchers. He appeared in the YouTube Red film The Thinning opposite Peyton List in 2016. Paul began working with drama trainers and comedians The Groundlings and Upright Citizens Brigade in early 2016. Paul wrote the screenplay for an adult comedy called "American Pie for Gen Z" and Paul himself as "Expendables with Internet stars." The film was supposed to be released in 2017, but it was later released on August 2, 2019, after being postponed. He has also been involved in a number of advertising campaigns, including for Hanes, PepsiCo, and HBO. Logan Paul VS. Comcast bought a short form digital TV series from Paul in 2016.

Dwayne Johnson's YouTube channel, "Logan Paul has been cut from, like, all of The Rock's films," a video starring himself and Paul in which Johnson informs Paul that he has been barred from all of Johnson's films, and consoles Paul by making him the "ambassador" in his forthcoming Baywatch feature film in February 2017. Paul released his latest single "No Handlebars" on November 23, 2017, a track that heavily relies on an interpolated sample of the American alternative hip hop band Flobots' "Handlebars" from an interpolated sample. The album was heavily criticized for its ostensible objectification of women, including a scene in its music video in which Paul rides several women like a bicycle. Jamie Laurie, a frontman for Flobots, sluggishly wrote word on the record and for the improper use of the sample, branded him the face of "douchebag entitlement." Laurie would later perform "Handle Your Bars" on a song that denounces Paul. Paul did not respond to Laurie's remarks nor the criticism of "No Handlebars." He deleted the song from YouTube after Flobots sued Paul for copyright theft in 2019.

Paul posted a vlog on December 31, 2017 depicting the recently deceased corpse of a man who had died by hanging himself in Aokigahara, the "suicide forest" in Japan, which had been regarded as a suicide site in Aokigahara. Paul and his crew had intended to camp in the woods but then had to notify the authorities and cancel their plans, but they were disappointed to find the body. Within 24 hours of being posted, the video received 6.3 million views in less than 24 hours. Celebrities and politicians slammed Paul's video describing the body and his organisation's reactions to it. In addition, he was accused by some other members of the YouTube group of being insensitive to suicide victims. He was also chastised for other misdeeds during the journey, including climbing onto a moving forklift at the Tsukiji fish market, removing his clothing on a packed street, then launching a brawl against another passenger, and throwing a massive Poké Ball at passing pedestrians, including an officer of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department. Several petitions were submitted to Change.org, asking YouTube to delete Paul's channel, the most popular of which attracted more than 720,000 signatures as of February 9, 2018.

Following up with a written apology on Twitter on January 1, 2018, Paul withdrew the video from his YouTube channel as a result of the backlash. Following day, a new video apology was published on YouTube, in which Paul admits he suffered a "severe and continuing lapse in [his] judgment" and portrays his behavior as a "coping device" and asks his followers to avoid supporting his actions in the process. YouTube released a statement on January 9 condemning Paul's video on Twitter. "We've been waiting for a long time to respond," the pair said in a series of tweets. We know that one creator's behavior can have a huge following, so we'll have more to share shortly on what we're doing to ensure that a video like this is never released again." YouTube revealed on January 10 that it would be removing Paul's channels from Google Preferred, Google's most popular ad service, and New World Order, the sequel to his YouTube film The Thinning, was suspended, with Logan Paul's television broadcasting of Logan Paul VS. suspended as well. Alec Fixler's role was also deleted from season 4 of the YouTube Red series Foursome, and his role as the protagonist was also cut. Following the scandals, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer pulled out of the date of the premiere of the musical film Valley Girl, in which Paul plays Mickey Bowen, was also postponed. By reporters from TMZ, Paul was seen at LAX on January 15. He said he has learned a lot from his mistakes and believes he has been treated "fairly." When asked whether or not he deserved a second shot, Paul replied, "Everyone deserves second chances, bro." In reaction, he donated $1 million to suicide prevention programs, a quarter of which is going to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. Paul hired Mike Majlak, a former Marketing Manager at furniture company LoveSac, to "make sure no bad things happen" and work with Logan to help him raise his profile in reaction to the scandal. After a 3-week absence, Paul officially returned to his daily vlogs on YouTube on February 4. Susan Wojcicki, the YouTube CEO, said on February 12 that Paul did not breach YouTube's three-strike policy and did not meet the conditions for being banned from the website. Following the uproar surrounding Paul's suicide video, Maverick Apparel, a youth and children's brand, threatened Paul with legal action for giving his clothing line the same name ("Maverick by Logan Paul"), causing a drastic decrease in sales.

YouTube banned all ads on Paul's channels due to his "pattern of conduct," referring to a joke he tweeted about the Tide Pod challenge, removing a fish from his pond to "jokingly give it CPR," and tagging two dead rats. As a result, his income was temporarily suspended, and Twitch's broadcasting was for the first time. Advertisements on Paul's channel were revived two weeks later, on February 26, but the channel was still on a 90-day "probation period," when his channel's content was not eligible to be on YouTube's trending tab.

The first episode of Impaulsive appeared on November 20, 2018. "What is it, male-only March?" Paul questioned on his Impaulsive podcast in January 2019. We're going to try going gay for a month.' He was widely chastised for implying that being gay is a choice, with LGBTQ+ group GLAAD responding to Paul's words on Twitter, saying, "That's not how it works Logan Paul." Paul published what has been described as a mockumentary investigating the Flat Earth Theory in March 2019. He spoke with many self-proclaimed "Flat Earthers" and spoke at the 2018 Flat Earth International Conference in Denver, Colorado, and was interviewed in the video. Planeless Pictures sued Logan Paul for the aforementioned 2017 tragedy in Aokigahara, where he released a video depicting a recently deceased suicide survivor. Planeless Pictures accused him of posting the video in order to get a movie contract with them where he would appear in, write, and produce their film Airplane Mode. They also stated that the video resulted in Google terminating their employment with them, resulting in their $3,000 in debt. Paul appeared on the fifth season of The Masked Singer in 2021 as "Grandpa Monster." He was unveiled after his second appearance, where one of his clues was a foreshadowing of his boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Boxing career

Following his white collar amateur boxing match with Joe Weller, British YouTuber KSI challenged Paul to a boxing match on February 3, 2018. Paul and his brother, Deji, would face KSI and his younger brother, Deji, in two white-collar boxing matches on February 24, 2018. The fight came as a majority draw, with two judges scoring the game even at 57-57 and a third judge scoring 58–57 in favor of KSI.

Paul will make his professional boxing debut in a match against KSI that will be exclusive to DAZN in the United States on September 4, 2019. The contest was scheduled to take place on November 9 at the Staples Center. Paul stirred up the controversy after he accused the KSI of five abortions before remarking, "five babies dead." I could give you a favor and kill you." Anti-abortion protesters rallied for him after abortion rights campaigner Janet Williams described his comment as "horrific." "I said something distasteful and insensitive," Paul replied.

The match, which consisted of six three-minute rounds, resulted in a victory for KSI by a split decision, with two judges scoring the fight 57–54 and 56–55 for KSI and one judge scoring it 56–55 in favour of Paul.

Paul will meet former five-division world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. in an exhibition bout on December 6, 2021. The match was postponed and took place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida, on June 6, 2021. Mayweather and Paul met for the first time at a press conference at Hard Rock Stadium, where the latter's brother, Jake Paul, became involved in an enraged brawl with Mayweather as he removed Mayweather's hat from his head. "I'll kill you motherfucker," a visibly ill Mayweather was caught on camera.

Are you crazy?

I'll fuck you up, motherfucker. I don't like motherfucking games. I'll fuck you up."

The bout entailed constant clinching started by Paul and swelled to the crowd's boos, with no winner being announced. Mayweather's superior boxing was reflected in the CompuBox punch lists, with Mayweather landing 43 punches of 107 (42%) in comparison to Paul's 28 landed of 217 thrown (12.9%).

"He's better than I thought he was... he's a tough, rough competitor," Mayweather said in a post-fight interview. Paul appeared to have some doubt about how serious Mayweather had taken the fight, saying, "Did Floyd let me live?" says the narrator.

Professional wrestling career

Paul made his WWE debut on April 2, 2021, as a guest of Sami Zayn in his first appearance on his showdown against Kevin Owens. After Owens defeated Zayn, Paul celebrated with Owens before being struck by Owens with the Stunner. Paul returned to WWE on September 3 as Happy Corbin's special guest on The KO Show, where Paul assisted Corbin in attacking Kevin Owens.

Paul was announced as the Miz' tag team partner on WWE Raw's February 21, 2022, the match between Rey Mysterio and Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania 38. The Mysterios were defeated at the tournament by Paul and Miz; however, Miz attacked Paul after the match.

Paul began a multi-event agreement with WWE on June 30, 2022. Paul defeated The Miz on SummerSlam. Following Paul's appearance on SmackDown to face Roman Reigns on September 16, it was revealed during a press conference the following day that Paul will face Reigns at Crown Jewel on November 5 for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.
