Life and career

Snyder was born in Northampton, Massachusetts. Her father is a professor of theatre at Smith College, and her mother is a singer-songwriter. Johnny Green, a five-time Academy Award-winning composer, and actress and consumer reporter Betty Furness were among her maternal grandparents. Snyder is a graduate of New York City's Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre, where she learned to act under Sanford Meisner's tutelage.

She Wrote that Snyder began her career as a performer in television dramas like The Trials of Rosie O'Neill and Murder. Molly Whelan, a child actress who appeared on ABC and later syndicated crime drama Sirens, in 1993. She co-starred in two made-for-television films and guest starred on Chicago Hope and Pacific Blue after the series was cancelled. Christina Applegate appeared in the NBC sitcom Jesse from 1998 to 2000. Mimi Leder's Pay It Forward directed her debut on television in a secondary role. Snyder debuted as Christine Hughes on CBS sitcom Yes, Dear. In 2006, the show came to an end.

Snyder, who was previously unknown to Yes, Dear, was on a five-year absence. She returned to television in 2011 in a House episode as a patient in need of a lung transplant. In a 2013 episode of Raising Hope, she reprised her Yes, Dear role. Snyder starred with Matt LeBlanc in the CBS sitcom Man with a Plan in 2016.
