Gamekeeper's son who illegally sold wild falcon chicks to rich sheikhs for racing is told to repay just £27,000 despite making £110,000

A gamekeeper's son who illegally sold wild peregrine falcon chicks for racing in the Middle East has been ordered to pay back £27,000 of criminal profits. Stunned prosecutors said Lewis Hall, 24, threatened to wipe out the south of Scotland's peregrine population by shipping the birds abroad selling the birds to wealthy sheikhs made £110,000 from his crimes. Lewis Hall, 24, made £110,000 from the 'extremely lucrative' international trade in peregrine falcons by taking them from the wild and selling them to be raced in Arabia.
Scottish birds are highly prized in the sport, and DNA testing showed that birds supplied by Hall and his father Timothy were being raced in Dubai. Prosecutors had originally been seeking to recover £164,000 that they said Hall junior had made from the sale of wild birds.

Six Englishmen, three academy products and the most expensive goalkeeper in history: The TEN players Chelsea are willing to sell to balance the books after another spending spree

At the time of writing, Chelsea have already signed 12 new players this summer with seven exiting Stamford Bridge. But the Blues are not yet finished in the transfer market, not even close. Chelsea's most expensive deal of the summer so far was completed on Sunday when Pedro Neto arrived from Wolves for £54million. That took Chelsea's summer spending beyond £160m. The sales of Ian Maatsen, Hakim Ziyech, Omari Hutchinson and Lewis Hall have seen the London outfit recoup just over half that figure.
