Early life
Gercke was born in Marburg and grew up in Cloppenburg, Germany, where she attended Liebfrauenschule Cloppenburg (ULF), a Roman Catholic Gymnasium, completing her Abitur in 2007. Gercke is an amateur chess player. She has a sister and two paternal half-sisters.

Career
Gercke received a casting call for Burger King on August 14, 2004. Langer-Pueschel was booked for photoshoots, catwalk shows, and dance performances. She appeared on screen for Next Topmodel, hosted by Heidi Klum, at the start of 2006. She earned an advertising deal with fashion label OuiSet, a modeling deal with IMG Models in Paris, and a Microsoft Advertorial agreement for Windows Live in June 2006. She has also appeared in publications such as Cosmopolitan, Sports Week, Glamour, and even on the front of French Votre Beauté. She has appeared in print campaigns for H&M, Mexx, and Geox. In 2010, she appeared at New York Fashion Week for Custo Barcelona's Spring season.
