Early life

Seydoux, a French businessman, was born on July 1st, 1985. Henri Jérôme Seydoux-Fortyne and Valérie Schlumberger are the granddaughters of businessman Henri Jérôme Seydoux-Fortunie Schlumberger and Matérie Schlumberger. She was born in Passy, Paris' 16th arrondissement, and grew up in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the 6th arrondissement. She had a strict Protestant upbringing but not religious. Seydoux is one of seven children. She has three older half-siblings (Marine Bramly, Noé Saglio, and Ondine Saglio) from her mother's first marriage, an older sister, stylist Camille Seydoux from her parents' marriage, and two new paternal half-brothers, Ismal Seydoux and Omer Seydoux from her father's marriage to model Farida Khelfa.

Seydoux's parents are both of Alsatian descent. Her father is a great-grandson of businessman and entrepreneur Marcel Schlumberger, while her mother, Maurice Schlumberger, is Marcel's granddaughter. The family name appeared in 1902, when Seydoux's great-great-grandfather, Charles-Louis-Auguste-Deltouydoux (1870–1929) married Mathilde, the niece of Languedoc aristocrat François Fornier de Lédenon, whose family held the titles of Baron de Lédenon and seigneur de Clausonne de Haute d'Albe, de Laugnac et de enons The Seydoux family is well-known in France and is very influential in the movie business. Jérôme Seydoux, her grandfather, is the chairman of Pathé; her granduncle Nicolas Seydoux, also a film director, is the chairman of Gaumont Film Company; and her father, Michel Seydoux, is the chairman of the French telecommunications firm Parrot; her grandfather, Jérôme Seydoux, is the chairman of the French telecommunications company Parrot; her father, Jacques Seydodoconna She has said that her family had no involvement in her film career and did not help her, and that she and her influential grandfather were not close. She had no desire to act as a child. Instead, she wished to be an opera singer and spent her time at the Conservatoire de Paris, studying music.

Seydoux's parents divorced when she was three years old and they were often away, her mother in Africa, and her father's work brought her "felt lost in the crowd." As a child, I was very lonely. "I had the feeling that I was an orphanage from the start." Seydoux grew up with famous artists such as photographer Nan Goldin, musicians Lou Reed and Mick Jagger, and footwear designer Christian Louboutin, through her family's involvement in media and entertainment. Seydoux attended summer camp in the United States, at the behest of her father, who wanted her to learn to speak English.

Valérie Schlumberger, a former actor-turned-philanthropist and the maker of the boutique Compagnie de l'ouest (CSAO), which promotes African artists' work, supports African artists' work. Seydoux used to be a model for their jewellery line Jokko. Schlumberger, who lived in Senegal as a child, was also the founder of two charities, Association pour le Sénégal et l'Ouest (ASAO) and Empire des enfants, a center for homeless children in Dakar, of which Seydoux is the "godmother."

Seydoux's youthful self is described as short-haired, marginally distressed, and generally considered a little odd: "People liked me but I never felt like a misfit." Seydoux has admitted to having an anxiety attack during the 2009 Cannes Film Festival, despite being concerned about her insecurity in adulthood.

Personal life

Seydoux and her partner André Meyer had planned their first child in September 2016. On January 18, 2017, she gave birth to Georges, her son.

Seydoux has said that the filming of Blue Is the Warmest Colour made her question her sexuality: "Of course I did [question it]. Me as a human being. Those scenes aren't just any. Of course, I doubt myself. I did not have any information at all." "I really don't feel like an actress, I feel like an actor," she prefers the word "actor" rather than "actress."
