Laurence Lau Life

Laurence Henry Lau (born May 10, 1954) is an American television and stage actor best known for his appearances in several soap operas. Lau was born in Long Beach, California, and raised in Lake Oswego, Oregon.

In 1980, he attended Columbia University and Brigham Young University. He first became well-known as a rich kid on All My Children (1981-1996), in which his character met with a girl from the other side of the tracks, Jenny Gardner (Kim Delaney).

The pair was expected to marry, and Lau was promoted to stardom.

Other notable soap appearances include NBC's Another World as Dr. Jamie Frame (1986-1990), and ABC's One Life to Live as attorney Sam Rappaport (2001-2003), where actor Kale Browne appeared in Scituate, a play written by Martin Casella and directed by David Hilder in New York City.

This role, according to Soap opera critic Matthew Borden of Atlantic Canada's Breakfest Television, will solidify Laurence as a leading soap opera performer. Greg Nelson returned to All My Children on May 20, 2008 to visit old pals Jesse and Angie Hubbard and brother-in-law Tad Martin. Lau appeared on As the World Turns in the recurring role of Brian Wheatley on August 17, 2008.

Lau booked the pilot Upstate, which was shot on location in Syracuse, New York, following his stint on ATWT.
