Early life and education
Fendrick was born (1982-03-20) in San Diego, California, on March 20, 1982. She grew up in Carlsbad, California. She demonstrated an interest in sports from a young age, playing in basketball, tennis, volleyball, and softball.
Fendrick obtained a degree in communication studies from UCLA and was lauded with a degree in magna cum laude. She went on to study law at the University of Southern California, graduating in 2010. The court accepted Fendrick's appointment, but law does not follow as of 2016.
Personal life
In February 2013, she married volleyball coach Andrew Fuller. Fendrick's first child, a daughter, was born in June 2019.
Volleyball career
Fendrick played indoor volleyball at UCLA from 1999-2002, where she was the team's champion in kills for the first two seasons. Fendrick was named a 2002 United States Volleyball Association (USVBA) All-American during her time playing for UCLA.
Fendrick joined the AVP tour as a beach volleyball player after her time at UCLA. Brooke Sweat teamed with her in 2014. Both athletes qualified with the United States Olympic Beach Volleyball Team in Rio for the 2016 Olympic Games. Sweat and Fendrick qualified as the second team for the United States, ranked second behind Kerri Walsh-Jennings and her partner April Ross in the top-ten teams in the country, ranked second only as the second team in the world's top seventeen teams. Fendrick and Sweat finished in last place for Pool A at the Olympics, effectively removing them from the tournament.
Fendrick joined Ross in spring 2017 for the forthcoming volleyball season. In Vienna, Austria, the pair came in second at the 2017 world beach volleyball championships. Ross and Fendrick were the first U.S. team, male or female, to win the inaugural event since 2011.
In 2018, Fendrick briefly collaborated with Nicole Branagh, but Branagh's partner, Walsh-Jennings, recovered from injury. With Loyola Marymount collegiate athlete Sarah Sponcil, Fendrick joined the Association of Volleyball Professionals in Austin, Texas, in May 2018. Fendrick returned to action in 2020 with partner Sara Hughes with the intention of advancing to the 2020 Summer Olympics.
